Question Partner Visa - Bridging Visa if need to defer?

I wanted to know if there was any sort of visa (maybe a bridging visa) that I could get if I want to defer my application for a Partner Visa? I'm going to be short on the 12 months requirement by 3 months. I'm working and I'm in a same sex relationship and we are in WA. My graduate visa will be expiring and that's why I'm going to be short on the 12 months requirement.

I was hoping to maybe get a bridging visa but it doesn't seem that Immi would grant me that just for an application deferral. So I was wondering if there was something else I could do?

Thanks for helping!
