I got married on the 15th of Feb and collected my official certificate from the BDM office on the 18th, but I had ordered it ahead - you need to get the celebrant to order it for you.

No problems - but I think it's only possible to get it that soon if you go in to the office and collect it. If they mail it out it would take longer

I just checked and they are down in Brisbane, which I guess I could just take a drive down and pick it up...? i'm sure the 16 hour round trip would be worth it, for the peace of mind!

Yeh Brisbane is the office where I got mine. But it was easy for me as I walk by it twice a day to and from work!

Hello everyone !!
My oz partner and I are gonna apply to this 820/801 visa. We heard that I was way faster + way more sure (to get he visa) to get an agent that to lodge by ourselves. Is that true ? We went to see an agent today.... Are the $3000+ that the agent asks for worth it ? :/
Thank you for your help !!
Marina

It depends if you're willing to put in the time and effort to figure out what you need to gather, and then to put together your application. Lots of people do it on their own, and lots of people use an agent.
