Hey all of you,
I applied my pmv through Delhi office on 20th feb 2018. I hired a migrant agent for my application. I did my medical and pcc within week as my migration agent told me that they got requested from DIBP for medical and pcc. Since 27 February 2018 no further query or any communication from office. Just wondering can I email the Australian embassy in Delhi about my visa query or should I wait? I’m aware about processing time for PMV.
Thanks .

Visa Grant

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have been going thru this site sine long time and got heaps of valuable information. Thanks a lot to every one.

Well my wife just got her spouse visa grant last week, so I want to share my experience.

Visa Lodgement date : 29/06/2017
Request for Medicals : 03/07/2017
Visa Grant date : 11/05/2018

I have lodged online.

I have filled all the required details online and submitted. I took whole of July to upload all the required documents. I didn't wait for them to ask for any documents like Police clearance.

My wife came to Australia in August 2017 on a 3 months multiple entry visitor visa for a year.

She got a call from Indian Immigration when she was here in Australia on 29th March 2018 that visa has been finalised.

She left to India Mid April 2018 and the immigration wanted some more info which was given thats why it took sometime to grant while she is in India.

Couple of very Important things to share out of all these:

1. My wife got her Medicare with in a month of her stay in Australia. Yes she was on a Visitor Visa. Any one who is waiting for the spouse visa are entitled to have Interim Medicare card depending on the length of Visitor Visa. My wife had for one year validity on her Medicare. One has to have Proof of permanent visa applied and you are entitled for Medicare. I and my wife had to go to different Medicare centre and explain to some of these rude bitches who just doesn't do their job properly.

2. Keeping writing to Indian Immigration. Be nice to them and just ask them closed ended questions. I was writing them at least once in Two months, just like a reminder. Most of the time they have standard reply like refer to standard processing time. But after my every email my wife was getting some request for information.

3. I made a dozen changes on my online application. Its ok if you made a mistake but change it as soon as possible. Once you submit its not end of the world. Just go online and change it.

4. You don't need to certify or Notary if your application is online.

5. Keep updating your communication details online, Irrespective of your location like Onshore or Offshore.

6. If your spouse waiting for the Visa and she is in Australia then they do push your application. Preference given to the people who are Offshore.

7. I had to submit 4 letters. Just like a covering letter explain them what you have to say on any issues. You cant speak to them or they won't entertain emails as well. So its best to write a covering letter with your wife details and upload it.

I hope this helps and sorry for the lengthy email.

All the Best

Thanks a lot $mith for your excellent post and many congratulations.

I have couple of questions and i would appreciate if you could reply when you have a moment. Thanks in advance.

1. Which email id you used to send your emails to and what would be the subject or questions you would ask (some general ones)?
2. What further documents would the department ask or have asked you?
3. Referring to point 6 in your email. Do you think the application moves in quickly if the applicant is in Australia?

I applied my wife's application online in January 2018 and my wife got a call from department (2-3mins in total) in March for providing more pics of the marriage. Rest all application is upto date. PCC and medicals all done.

Once again many congratulations. Would appreciate your comments on the above queries.

Cheers

Hello Auzz77,

The Email ID which we used are [email protected], [email protected]. Better to have as much details about the applicant details and generally reply to information which they want and ask them if they need more information apart from what they asked. Me personally have Emailed them thrice just asking them whether they need more information.

They have asked me one of the missing sponsor document. Even thou I have done it online, they wanted me to print and sign it and upload it. They have called me twice and I didn't answer as I was working. My wife got a call once end of march and they told its been finalised and told her she has to leave Australia.

No. my wife was in australia for 8 months, she would have got her visa much earlier if she was offshore. 3 months of visitor visa stay will be good enough.

You have applied in jan 2018, its been 4 months. Give them more than what they have asked. I have given them like 20 Pictures, my Phone Bills, my travel itinerary, a big covering letter explain about our commitment and relationship what ever crap they wanted. You still have time to upload more documents and just email them that you did .

Hopefully this helps you. All the best

Hey $mith,

Thanks again for your reply. What was the subject line when you emailed the department? I have not done the covering letter (which i'll do shortly) and send them an email as well.

I still have some more questions for you. Since, you have got your visa recently you are the best person to confirm the list of docs that you uploaded. I have uploaded the following documents. Can you please let me know if you did upload anything else:
Following for my wife:
Marriage certificate
Photographs of ceremony
Certificate of marriage from temple
Passport ( old n new)
Family tree
Form 80
Form 1221
Telephone logs, email, gifts exchanged to each other while apart
Form 888
Joint travel, travel itinerary, travel tickets, social events and activites, families with pictures
Joint bank account statement, joint invesment
Medical
PCC
Birth certificate
Photos

For me:
PCC (both indian and australian), Passport, PR, Drivers license, proof of residence, bank statements.

Appreciate your response and patience in advance.

Cheers.
