That might be a reason for 'some' cases, but others are just down to this:

"with more applications than available grants each year, that backlog will keep growing"

There can be many reasons for the delays, including the time taken to do security checks in the applicants home country, and maybe other countries they have visited.

Some get delayed due to not submitting all required information, and may wait a year, or so, before immigration either ask for it or just refuse the incomplete application.

Unfortunately no one really knows how it works.

But some visas get granted quickly, others wait a long time.

Does anyone have any updates with their 2019 applications has anyone been assigned a case officer or had any communication from AHC? We have applied in Feb 2019 and havent heard anything as of yet.

I know there are people waiting for applications from 2018 but just wondering if anyone has applied in 2019 and has had any comms from AHC?

Good luck!

From personal experience and what I have observed, they normally get in touch with you within a couple of months for your PCC and health clearance. If you have already submitted them at the time of the application then you probably may never hear from them until a decision is taken. So itís a waiting game.
Some people get calls, some donít. Some get asked additional relationship evidence, others just directly get their grant mail.

Our file was front loaded (complete file), we were contacted within 3-4 weeks to provide medical and PCC. Which we did straight away. Since then, zero contact.

We did get one email, stating our file is in process. That's it.
