That is great news!

Can you provide any more details? Was this your visa?

That is a pretty good turnaround as it seems like there are people who have been waiting since April and still not processed.

My wife has lodged in September 2019 and we are pretty much expecting to take the full 24 months.
Nope this is not mine, this update is from a whatsapp channel that was formed for the partner visa petition.

Hi Everyone,
Please clarify below query

1. Filed 309 Partner visa when my wife was pregnant and now she gave birth to our baby in India.
2. We have notified this via change of circumstances link in the application.

Now, should I add my baby to the same 309 application after getting passport etc for her? I have read somewhere that new born baby will give a PR grant along with the mother .

Please clarify.

Hello snowingreen ,

Im applying from Sri Lanka
Im also having the same situation, my wife got conceived and we were blessed with a baby in Sri Lanka,

I guess we can directly apply for citizenship for the baby via immi , as at the time of the birth one of the parent (mother) was a citizen. and this can be applied online.

Best regards,
Aqeel Mahroof

Hi Hari,
Are you holding Australia citizenship. I guess if the parents are PR, baby will get citizenship if place of birth is Australia else we have to apply for PR ( child visa). kindly clarify

Hi all - just received an RFI from AHC Delhi
Medicals + confirming some details on form 80.
Lodged application in March 2019
Hoping to provide all the details to them in the next few days and hopefully getting a quick turnaround on the grant.

Finally, after waiting 564 days or 1 year 6 months and 15 days or 18 months 15 days, we received the much awaited letter from the department.

Our background - My husband is much younger than me. So our circumstances were very different than others. We got married in April 2019 and lodged our 309 application in the same month.

We front loaded everything including the PCC and Medicals. As the application was progressing we kept adding more evidence. In April 2020, the medical and PCC expired. We got fresh PCC in August 2020; but decided not to get the medicals done again for time being. Until October 2020, there was no change in our status.

Our timeline -
DOL - April 2019
Processing Country - New Delhi, India
Call for an interview - 22 October 2020 (We both received a call at the same time on this day)
s56 RFI - 22 October 2020 - medicals to be done again. (Status changed to initial assessment)
Medicals done - 26 October 2020 (they received the reports on 31 October 2020)
2nd call for interview - I (the sponsor) got the call this time.
Grant - About an hour after 2nd interview, we received the 309 Grant letter.

Tips - During the interview they asked questions about our relationship. Stick to the point and answer what they ask. Be honest and do not hide anything. We provided so much evidence to the point where my husband exhausted all the upload capacity. So I started sending the documents via "Immigration enquiry form". Do not nag them for status enquiries as they will point you to the processing time.

Most importantly, I know its difficult, but hang in there. They have stated processing. And remember, evidence, evidence, evidence. They need to know that your relationship is genuine and continuing.

Good luck.
