Hi Becky,

First of all thank you for providing the information which we are so eager to get. We applied online in last week of April. As you said online applications are taking a bit longer, can we estimate how many weeks delay with respect paper based.

Did you apply online or submit a paper application? Online applications are taking a bit longer than paper because there aren't many case officers who seem to have been trained to process the online applications.
Hope this helps and hope you get the good news soon. Good Luck and please do keep us updated

Hello Becky

Thank you very much for your reply and sure will update. My application is submitted online through migration agent. The agents are not telling the information regarding the status of application. I have one more clarification Becky. I am holding one year visitor visa now and is valid for 5 more months. But I am staying offshore now. Holding this visitor visa will it affect the processing of my partner visa ?

Thank you for your words of encouragement and appreciation. I hope you get your visa soon. You are in my prayers

I forgot to clarify one thing in my post:- The person who sends the applicants the Acknowledgement Letter and/or the request for medicals is unfortunately not the case officer.

I'm not sure about other AHCs , but a 100 percent positive about AHC New Delhi. Many applicants get contacted by AHC between 1-8 weeks of application, the Acknowledgement Letter will also have the name of the officer who works in AHC as a case officer but he/she ISN'T YOUR case officer, so don't get too excited.

I learnt this the hard way, I got my Acknowledgement Letter (with an officer's name and her position number at the bottom) and medical request within 2 days of application and was literally dancing around with pom-poms, thinking that I was going to be getting my visa very soon.
Little did I know!! that she wasn't my case officer and I had to wait for over 27 weeks to get an actual case officer, HELL froze on me and it still hasn't unfrozen till now...LOL Been over 12 months since application and no sign of visa.

Under NO circumstance will AHC allocate case officer to an application before 30-31 weeks since date of application.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!!
Have a great weekend Hassan!

Kind Regards,
Becky
Hey Rajani,

Happy to help
I can't unfortunately predict the wait time as I don't want to give you incorrect information. AHC New Delhi is processing applications submitted in February and March so I don't think you have a very long wait ahead of you.
The paper applications seem to be getting processed and approved before the case officers process the online ones. The average wait for case officer allocation is between 36-40 weeks since date of submission.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Kind Regards,
Becky

Hey Komal,

Please don't mention the names of case officers on the thread Just use their initials. That would be highly appreciated.
Don't worry if you have been assigned a case officer she probably is assessing your application. If she needs anything she'll contact you.
Hope this helps. Good luck!!

Kind Regards,
Becky

Hey Archu,

No worries, happy to help
Nothing to worry about. As soon as your partner visa is approved, your visitor visa (even if it's valid for another 5 months) will be cancelled immediately because one person can hold only one substantive visa at a time.
It will not affect the processing of your partner visa as long as AHC knows that you're in India.

Online applications are taking longer than the paper applications as I mentioned in my earlier posts. The migration agent probably will be the first to know if there are any progress in the assessment of your application or if there is any requirement from your case officer for further evidence/additional documents when one gets allocated to your case.

Hope this helps. Please do ask if you have more questions. Good Luck!!

Kind Regards,
Becky
