Hey Sonakshi,

The processing methods and time frames for both PMV (subclass 300) and partner (subclass 309/100) visa are the SAME. There is not difference as far as AHC New Delhi's processing time frame is concerned. 8-11 months is AHC's indicative time frame and 12 months is the global processing time frame.

Majority of the cases (with no complications) are approved within the indicative time frame. As I mentioned in my earlier post, AHC is allocating case officers to January 2014 applications so you might have to wait for a bit longer- 35-36 weeks since date of application for a case officer allocation i.e. roughly 9 months since application.
CURRENT AVERAGE PROCESSING TIMES - Australian High Commission

Hope this clears up some of your confusion. Please do ask if you have any more questions. Good Luck!!

Kind Regards,
Becky

Hey sandeep123,

AHC New Delhi is taking 35-36 weeks since date of application to allocated case officers to applications.
Below is the link from AHC's website:-
CURRENT AVERAGE PROCESSING TIMES - Australian High Commission

As per current trend, AHC is allocating and approving applications submitted in January 2014. Please do ask if you have any questions
Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Becky hope you are doing well.

The question sandeep123 was asking is about 'how long does it take from the date the CO is assigned to the visa grant'? According to my understanding/

Kind regards,
Hassan

Ooops!! Apologies sandeep123
I'm losing my mind right now. Been busy preparing hopefully the final set of additional documents to submit along with the PCC as I received my updated passport yesterday evening. I'm planning to apply for the PCC in a couple of days. Have slept 4 hours in the past 2 days; I'm losing my mind trying to think if I missed out anything that I could use as evidence, thank GOD for Redbull!! haha!

Your understanding is absolutely correct
Thank you for the correction Hassan

As per the latest trends of AHC New Delhi (from the last 2 weeks) they seem to be approving visas on the same day a case officer is allocated to a file (35-36 weeks/9 months after application). I didn't post this update till now because this is very new and I want to be sure of the processing method that AHC will opt for has definitely changed before I post an update on the thread.

So far 3 applicants from January 2014 have been granted their visa straightaway as soon as they were allocated a case officer.
This is a great news but still too early to be sure whether or not this change is permanent or just a temporary thing.

Hope this helps. I apologise about the confusion.
Good Luck!!

Kind Regards,
Becky

Becky,

Thank you very much for the effort you making in knowing how DIBP works.
This is a new infromation in deed, and everybody will wonder happily with it. If a case officer is eventualy assigne after the 9 months, and the visa is granted within the same day, nothing to worry in deed. It means as you wait for allocation of CO, you are also waiting for the visa grant at the same time.

We hope it will be permanent through out and the same across all AHCs world wide.

I am happy to hear that you have secured your passport and you are going to apply your PCC. Wish you a wonderful time as you wait for the grant of your long-waited visa.

For how long does the PCC take to be given in India?

Best wishes,
Hassan

Not a problem! Happy to help

It is a silver lining among very dark clouds of painful wait for the stressed out and anxious applicants. Hoping and praying that after the 9 months (cases with no complications) wait for a case officer the visas are granted without any further hold-up

I felt like crying when the postman handed me the passport bringing my hopes of being with my partner once again back to life

The regional passport office issues PCC on the same day to the applicants whose passports are less than 12 months old (from what I've been told). For the ones that are older than 12 months, the it could take a few days for the passport office to issue a PCC as police verification is done (I'm not too sure about this as different city, state have their different procedure, it's confusing )

Now since my passport was issued on September 04, 2014 I have high hopes and have been praying day and night that I will be issued my PCC on the day I apply for it.
Only time will tell what happens. I will update you guys
Thank you for your kind wishes.

How are you going with your visitor visa application? Have you lodged it yet and which one are you going for; the normal visitor visa or the family sponsored one?
Good Luck!! Wish you a timely grant

Kind Regards,
Becky

Thanks Becky for the kind response.
I have not applied yet as I am waiting for documents sent by my wife from Brisbane. But everything else are in tact and ready, and even the form is filled in advance. Eagerly waiting for the supporting documents from Aus which I will probably get within this week.

I will go for the normal visitor visa, and in case rejected, I will immediately face the other option-Family Sponsored visa.
Will keep you in the loop Becky

Good luck for all of us.
Hassan
