Exclamation Sub Class 100 Permanent Visa

Hello Becky,

Greetings !!

I got my Sub Class 309 Visa approved on Jan 20th 2014 and became elgible for Sub Class 100 Visa on July 12th 2015. I applied for my Sub Class 100 Visa online by submitting all the necessary documents online on July 13 2015. Do you happen to know the latest timelines for granting the Visa Sub-Class 100 ? Did you get any acknowledgment from Immigration folks once you submitted the documents for Sub-Class 100 ?

Is there anyone in this forum who has any idea what the processing time for Sub Class 100 Visa is ? It will be great if someone can shed some light on this, as I need the Sub Class 100 (Permanent Visa) to apply for Permanent jobs.

Regards
Bamborabi

Hi Bamborabi,

Can I ask if you applied for the 100 visa while living off shore, or are you required to be living in Australia to apply

Thanks, ted

Hi Bamorabi

DIBP are backlogged at the moment. We have more 801 applicants than 100 but from what I have seen a 100 grant it 4 to 6 months at the moment (use to be 2 to 4 months). Hang in there, eventually it will come through but they are all taking longer at the moment.

Not all permanent jobs require a permanent visa, in the mean time just keep on applying for jobs.

No you can be either offshore or onshore while applying the Subclass 100 Visa. I was onshore when I applied for it

Thanks Mish,
I am hoping I get my 100 grant ASAP as most companies do not want to hire Sub Class 309 candidates as they feel its a risk in case the 100 grant gets cancelled. All I can do is pray at the moment.

Interesting ... I know quite a few people (my husband included) who have permanent jobs on a temporary visa.

Maybe has to do with your occupation or location?

What did you and your husband say was your status while applying for a job
Visa Status: PR or SubClass 309 ?

How did you convince them that SubClass 309 is as good as a PR ?

Regards
Bamborabi

All they asked was what visa he was on and we said 820 and they asked for a copy of his visa to check work rights and that was it. I had put in the cover letter he had "an indefinate Australian temporary visa with unlimited work rights". They didn't ask or comment about PR they were more concerned if he had the right to work.
