Does anyone know what email address I should use? I can't find anything on the dbip website anywhere and the only emails I have from them are "noreply" correspondence emails

And now they will be screening sponsors far more thoroughly. You could potentially lose all sponsor rights as an AU citizen.

Res it's all right mate you don't have to convince me! I'm not a law breaker by nature, I feel guilty if I forget to indicate while driving!

Res12345 06-19-2017 10:15 PM

Or call them. Someone will be able to help you.

Make an enquiry

I'm not in Australia so calling is a bit difficult

Then call your local AU immigration office. Here in the US we call Ottawa Canada.

Okay I scan give that a try although I know the permanent stage visas are processed in Australia (also I've had horrific experiences of the department over the phone but that's another matter)

Do you have any information from your CO? Did you apply through agent or online ?

Jmac01 06-19-2017 10:25 PM

I found an appropriate and relevant form! Hallelujah.
In case anyone need it https://www.border.gov.au/about/corp...s-enquiry-form

Jjhinh - the CO only processed the temporary stage and that was well over two years ago now, so I think it's safe to say I can't rely on that. We applied online but only through his account, I never had an account of my own.

I'd have to wait for the 5 year waiting period if the current visa is granted, but no waiting period if it's not granted (as far as I can decipher the immigration guidance).
Ultimately I think I have to look after myself first in this instance, as much as I care about him, it's partly about integrity and partly about my future so ... yeah :(

Hasn't your partner already been granted a temporary partner visa? If so, you will already have started the 5 year waiting period from the date that was applied. If the PR stage is granted, that waiting period just moves up to the date when that was applied.

But good luck ever getting another partner visa in the future if DIBP finds out you sponsored someone for one when you weren't together.

Wow harsh much? We were together when I sponsored him, that's the whole point. We've since hit some pretty rocky ground and probably won't get back together and I'm figuring out how I am meant to go about telling them. Your compassion is overwhelming.
