Most people their status goes straight from received to finalised.

I am an Australian citizen waiting for my wife's Partner visa 302 who is a Pakistani. I have temporarily moved to Pakistan to live with her until she gets her visa. As a result, I don't have significant Australian income or savings at the moment. We do have a joint bank account in Pakistan where we receive about $2,000 from my income which is enough for our living expenses.
Does anyone know whether not having a current Australian income/savings would negatively impact our application?

hi blackjack... congrats on the visa. super quick! thats amazing!!! can I ask two things... did you just do the police checks and medical yourself (i.e. early), or wait to be requested. Im guessing just did it yourself without being requested. Second, did you have to do a police check for the applicant and sponsor, or just applicant. just trying to get ahead of the game so to speak, and be proactive. thanks, -nortas

Hi waiting room peoples... just introducing myself. Im from Norway, husband Australian, just submitted my 309/100 on Jan 9th and now embarking on the supporting documentation... it sure is a task!

Look forward to finding others with similar timelines (answer her or PM), and those ahead to see how the que is progressing. I know it doesn't mean much, but hopefully I have a simple case. 10 years married, child. seems like will be no hurdles, but who knows with the processing time... fingers crossed for a quick one... but I'm realistic of the painful long haul that may drag into.

Feel free to get in touch... other Europe applicants (London/Berlin processing), or Scandinavians especially, we probably have a lot of similar issues to figure out. be nice to help each other through the journey, and even beyond the visa the process of moving to Aus and settling in. This information on these forums has been invaluable to date, and i can imagine finding a lot more along the way to help get to the end goal.

Have a good day!
nortas

The department of immigration are not concerned with how much money you earn/wages/unemployment in regard to partner visas. They are concerned with the genuinity of the relationship

Hi all,

I (Australian Sponsor) have applied for the 309/100 partner visa (partner from Spain) on the 31st August 17. Last friday i was contacted by CO requesting further information (medical check and police checks).

I know it varies from country to country, however is anyone able to advise how long after their visa was approved after the information requested was provided to immigration?

Trying to figure out if it might be worth looking into a TV for 3 months while the 309/100 is in process.
Can anyone shed some light on the type of TV you have applied for in order to travel to Aus in the meantime?

I understand you will be given a date and you will need to exit the country until it is finalized.

Thanks in advance!

I submitted the extra documents (police check and medical) the evening of the 4th Jan, and it was approved on the morning of the 5th Jan. About 12 hours...
