Oh yeah fair enough. My partner did his UK police check application about 3 weeks after we lodged (wishful thinking) and paid the extra to get it like super quick, and got it back like within 2 weeks of posting it away. He did need to send it to his parents in the UK first because they are really fussy with who can sign it.
I hope you do too! When next year is your wedding?

We will probably do the uk police check soon just to get it out of the way. It's annoying how specific they are about who can sign it right??! There is only one person in the uk who can do it for us, because of the limited list of professions that can sign, plus he's been out of the uk for so long he's lost touch with a lot of people who might have been able to do it. We have to get a new one for his new NZ visa, so we are just going to get 2 copies so we have the spare for aus.
Our wedding is in May, which would mean 11 months from application.... Fingers crossed! I just hate the waiting!

ok so we got a officer assigned to our application today - her name is M - she needed just two more pieces of paperwork from us being my US green card which we gave her inmediately and my husband has to send to new mexico where we use to live, a form to get a police check (i should have known, new mexico says the turn around time is 7 days) ... and notarised - new mexico to send the form to the us embassy attention to our officer to avoid the back and forth of paperwork overseas ..., we are going to see a lawyer today to get it notarised and a money order written up for new mexico ..... we applied july 1st so 5 months to get someone to look at our paperwork .... she says when she's ready to approve he will need to be out of country for 5 days so she can activate the visa ....

Hi there! Just wondering if someone can assist. We submitted our 309/100 application back in August and received the request for medicals and police checks last week. Police check is back and translated and medicals are being done next week. We have a trip planned to Australia in January. I had kind of hoped we still had the medicals etc pending as now we run the risk of having the visa granted when my partner is onshore. I want to advise the CO we will be in Australia so to please let us know if the visa is being granted but we received the email from a generic DIBP correspondence email. Should I just reply to that address advising them? I'm worried they will never see it!

Mijita, I've read that others in the forum have simply replied to the CO by email indicating the dates and purpose of travel, and for quick reference the TRN and names of applicant and sponsor. If you are worried you could send an email, as well as upload a note to your application advising of the joint upcoming travel.

Hi Hodgi, I'm going to email them I think.... we applied in June and still haven't heard anything. I'm getting tetchy now lol.

What email address did you use to contact immi in aus? I can't find one on their website.

Hey JMac! Fair enough! Every time I see you've posted something all I can hope is it is a message saying you've gotten your visa!
I actually couldn't find an email on the immi website either, I emailed the Aus consulate in Auckland and they must have forwarded on my email :P I'll PM you the address as it's not a generic email address
In saying that, I've not heard from them since, so frustrating! It seems impossible to contact anyone regarding online visas in NZ!
