Did you apply from NZ? Who did you call coz I've found it basically impossible to find who is responsible for online applications - the Aus consulate/high commission have said they don't deal with online applications

no we applied offshore in the US .. We're living in australia my husband is on a ETA right now, and leaves every 3 months then comes back ...

Hi everyone,

We applied for a 309 partner visa on August 14th for my wife and have been waiting it out in China since before that. I've been looking around on this forum and have not seen many people apply from China. We applied online and it has been almost 4 months now. We have not been assigned a CO that we know of and our application has shown no updates. Is this normal?

If there is a thread for Chinese applicants that I have not seen somewhere that I could reference can someone point it out? Anyway, I'm waiting offshore so I thought I'd post here =)

Thanks all.

Edit: I can't seem to find any information on where our application actually ends up going to. Does anyone know where I can find some information?

Jmac01 12-12-2014 08:48 AM

Hi Ryugen, yes it's normal not to hear anything for months!

We applied almost 6 months ago and today we finally got an email from the department!!!! They've requested more information (health and police checks). Woohoo!!

For most countries, your application will be processed at the closest Aus immigration office - check this page out: People's Republic of China

Each embassy has it's own processing time frames though, so you could be in for a much longer wait, or you could get your visa soon - it all depends on the embassy. You can contact them and ask about their average processing times.

Oh woo hoo! Contact!!! That must be so exciting for you, so happy for you!! :-) :-)

hi there, seek your suggestions..
My wife has applied for a partner visa
(Sub class 309) at Australian embassy office in Chandigarh, India on
17/10/2013.
On 12/05/2014, We received a confirmation letter regarding the completion of the file assessment.
On 4th july 2014, I sent another email to esquire about the pending final decision. On 10th July 2014, In the reply of my inquiry, I was informed that the normal processing time to finalize decision is from about 8 to 12 month.
It's already 14 months since we have applied for the visa. we are more than happy to provide them any further information regarding our application.
I have been sending emails regarding the processing time but just getting the same standard computer generated reply from immigration. Please suggest me what I can do at this time..
thanking you.

Hey jagdeep,

Is your partner onshore? Or are there any complications in your case? My application took over 16 months to get approved but ours was a complicated case that's why I asked about complications.
Look forward to your reply.

Kind Regards,
Becky
