I could not get how to provide my consent. Can anyone advise which form to be filed or its just a statutory declaration?

thanks

Hi guys!

I have been lurking in this forum since I applied for my visitor visa until when my wife and I applied for our offshore partner visa. By the way I am a Filipino and I am living in Canada so my application was processed by the Australian Embassy in Ottawa. I want to share that I just got my grant today, I did not expect it to be fast. Application was submitted in the last week of November 2017 and I had my medical examination done on the first week of December 2017, I did my medical even though there was no request from the case officer. I also submitted police clearances from the Philippines and here in Canada, while my wife submitted hers from Australia. I think the Ottawa embassy is working quite fast, because I applied for another visitor's visa after submitting the partner visa and it was granted last January 2018. We submitted the visitor's visa so that I could go and visit my wife while waiting for the partner visa, but we did not expect that we would get the grant quickly, so we're very thankful for the quick approval.

I think it will be overridden by the partner visa, that is also my question for my visitor visa. I hope someone can enlighten us both.

You don't do anything. Just enter Australia and you will have activated the visa.

I had an ETA when my 300 was granted and I didn't have to do or say anything. I just entered Australia as normal and checked VEVO when I was in and I was on the 300.

Hey guys, another noob to the forum. Nice to see such a big community here.

My question relates to sponsors. My wife and I are intending to apply on a 309/100 visa from Canada. Does it matter when sponsors get our police checks done? I know that it's a little different for the applicant – in some ways, the clock for their landing starts as soon as they have their health and police checks done, but is it the same for sponsors?

No, it doesn't matter. Technically they are also only valid for 12 months, but my partner's (sponsor) was expiring at the same time my visa was granted and he didn't have to redo it.

I got an email from the deptt asking for additional information.

✃ an Australian National Police Check (NPC),
a police check for every country (other than Australia) in which you have lived

✃ Consent to the department to disclose any criminal convictions you have had for any relevant offences to the visa applicant(s).

I can understand the Police clearance ones but I am not sure about the "consent one".how to provide this consent.

Any pieces of advice please.
thanks

You'd think it would be implied consent just by agreeing to sponsor but apparently they want your actual consent: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/...r-requirements

So I would just type up a simple letter stating something along the lines of: "I, _(name)_, consent to the department to disclose any criminal convictions for relevant offences to the visa applicant(s), if any." You may want to add the TRN for the applicant's application as well or even their name and passport number somewhere. Then sign and date. You may even want to consider getting your signature witnessed by an authority, such as the ones listed on the Form 888's first page. Then scan and upload to the immi account.

sengerrk and kangr like this.
