My question relates to sponsors. My wife and I are intending to apply on a 309/100 visa from Canada. Does it matter when sponsors get our police checks done? I know that it's a little different for the applicant – in some ways, the clock for their landing starts as soon as they have their health and police checks done, but is it the same for sponsors?
No, it doesn't matter. Technically they are also only valid for 12 months, but my partner's (sponsor) was expiring at the same time my visa was granted and he didn't have to redo it.
Makes sense. Thanks.

I had an ETA when my 300 was granted and I didn't have to do or say anything. I just entered Australia as normal and checked VEVO when I was in and I was on the 300.
Thank you for that information

Hello all,

I submitted my 309 application at the beginning of January this year. I am Canadian/British and my husband is Australian. Both our kids are Australian citizens. We live in the US right now, so our application will be processed in Washington I think.

From what I am reading it seems like Washington is either at or longer than the posted processing time of 11-15 months, would you agree? I have already submitted all police checks and completed my medical.

I have other questions but will follow up later Thanks and I look forward to waiting with you!

So we got our golden email today and the 100 granted straight away! 6 weeks and 6 days since applying for a 309/100 from the UK. We had our medical and more bank information requested on the 22nd of March and had the medical done on the 29th. The medical cleared this morning, we pushed the button to say our information had all been submitted, emailed our case officer and were granted the visa within 15 minutes! Thank you to everyone who helped with any questions we had, as well as the forum in general, it helped make the application much simpler and easy to navigate! Good luck to everyone waiting and applying!

Congratulations. 6 weeks is fantastic. We're over 7 months now with everything supplied last year.

Hi guys! Im new to this forum😊 I have applied for 309/100 on 6th January 2017. Yes... almost 15 months ago. We are married and have a child who is an Australian citizen. We have been in a relationship for more than 3 years and lived together on 3 continents. I was asked for the medicals and police cert in Feb 2017 but because I was pregnant at that time I had to wait to do the medicals (x-ray) and submitted them in August 2017. Our Case Officer advised us to wait until after the baby is born. We already moved to Australia as my partner got a job offer. Im on tourist visa and seriously have enough waiting. Its been 15 months. It says on my immi that the estimated time is from 10 to 13 months. We are married, have a kid and I really do not understand what is taking so long. There is no reason for the visa to be denied. Please give me some hope for the golden email to come soon😊😊 thx

Where were you when you applied? In Poland? Each location seems to have different processing times and what you see online is the global average.
