Keeping my fingers crossed for you too, hopefully it won't be too far into the new year when you hear something too. Just a heads up, they have asked us for form 80 - being low risk, I was hoping we wouldn't have to do it but we do. Just in case you wanted to start looking at the form. We've already sorted out the medicals, so we are just waiting on the police checks and we have given them everything! So excited! |

Contact!
So we applied in Vietnam in July (I'm British my partner is Australian obviously) and we are here working as teachers.
We emailed the Ho Chi Minh embassy asking a few questions as we will be leaving Vietnam in February for a month of travel, then a month back home in Scotland and we were worried about leaving the country we lodged it in and If we could return to Australia in April on a tourist visa. Our case officer got back to us and a few weeks later emailed asking me about some dates in my application (As I had been in and out of Korea 3 times last year for a total of 10 months- luckily I don't need a Criminal check for there!) He also said I have passed the medical and I now have enough evidence for my visa, also that we could return to Australia in April on a tourist visa!! We had mentioned in a previous email that we will have enough evidence to prove we having been living together for 3 years come January and we said that he has noted this on my application and put me forward for the 100 visa! Good news all round!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!:D:D |
Help!
early this morning we learned that my husband's Mum had passed away.
Needless to say we are scrambling to get over there. My husband is leaving tonight while I stay and wrap up a few things here. I plan on traveling the 25th. How do I notify immi that I'll be visiting/attending funeral? |
WendyB, so sorry for your loss.
I called the Americas service center to let them know about my holiday visit. You have to wait in the phone queue but otherwise easy. |

What I did was upload a letter under Travel Documents Other, explaining my three intended visits that will likely occur before my PMV is granted. Then, I called them when my holiday visit was ticketed to tell them exact dates and asked if I needed to also upload a cover letter - they said no they would update my file for me. So, all in all, I think a phone call is all you need. I am of the opinion that streamlining the evidence only to exactly what they ask for on their checklists/evidence categories makes it easier for them to review your application. |

I will call tomorrow morning once they are open for business. All this one is for is the trip for the funeral. |
