While I was in India I applied for 309/100 thru a migrant agent from Perth.I know I am not eligible for tourist visa but I have made a trip to Bali with my mrs. For two weeks back in February is there any chance or hope for tourist visa and I got married in Australia according to Australian marriage law will this help with my current application of 309/100 or not really?

Case Officer

Hello Everyone,

I submitted my spouse 309 visa in 24th November 2017. I have not heard back yet from any case officer. She is Taiwanese so I believe Hong Kong embassy should process her case.

Is anyone aware of how long will it take to be assigned a case officer? We submitted all the documents by end of January. I believe she will need to do the medical check again as it is valid for 6 months now!

Thanks for your input.

Okay, background checks have been added so our application is decision ready!! The application status is still sitting on "Received". Coming up on 11 months. Fingers crossed they look at it soon! When we submitted, the processing time was like 10-13 months but now it's 12-16. Still, I know the processing times aren't always the best guide. This must be the longest I've ever been in a "waiting room", haha.

Would anyone like to comment on my wife's case? She submitted her application about 6 weeks ago, thinking we wouldn't hear from anyone for months. Lo and behold we get a call from our Seoul based CO a couple of days ago. We don't have a very complex case. Married 15 years, one 10yo, everyday working stiffs. So our Japanese police checks will be ready in a couple of days, the missus has to get her health check, and that's it. I was told to wait to complete an Oz police clearance for some reason. Yeah it was depressing to see the wait times lengthened out of the blue. Do any of these cases ever get approved inside of the estimates? Cheers, L

The way wait times work is the first time listed means 75% of applications are processed in that time or less, so yes, the majority of applications come in under that. Currently it's 75% processed in 12 months or less for the 309.

Hi guys! Does anyone have recent experiences about the processing time in Berlin? Applied 6th of March, not assigned a CO yet. Leaving to go to Australia in a month, will be on a visitor visa until it's granted. Really hope it won't take too long, as I would like to get a job and help out financially. Have done all police checks and medicals needed, it's basically ready for grant. Crossing my fingers, good luck everyone! x
