2. Did you have dependent children?
3. Were you already married?

I hear short turnaround times of the visa being granted in less than 6 months are rare, and really only happen if people meet at least one of the three categories above.

I'm hoping there is SOMEONE out there who didn't meet the 3 categories above and still got their visa in under 6 months. Tell me there's hope and a chance I wont have to wait 12+ months!

Appreciate your comments! Thanks

My Situation
I'm an Aussie, my boyfriend a U.S. citizen, we're both living in the U.S. together and had been living together for 1.5 years at the time we applied.
Applied Apr 2018
Police check submitted May 2018
health Check completed June 2018
Hey I got a time of exactly 6 months. (Applied Sept 9, 2017, granted March 9, 2018)

We were together for 2 years at the point of application, no children, and not already married. I went through Seoul, and just made sure to upload every single thing I could think of. Hope this helps !

I have a question in relation to online application. If we have handwritten statements signed by relatives, friends, do we scan and upload them or type it as a document? What about the signatures?

Our Form 888s we recommended our friends type them as it was easier than writing in block lettering. They just printed them out, got the signatures witnessed, then either gave us the forms or scanned them themselves and emailed to us.

@utsc No, just waiting. Is there an unusually high amount of visa applications approved during this time?

Usually if the processing is completed and if they have reached the "planed Levels" for fiscal year they wait for the next fiscal year to Grant the visas

Dear all,

i'm Jordanian and my wife is Australian. we got married in 2013 and we have a baby girl. she is almost one year old now.
I applied for Visa 309 on 3rd of March 2018 online through immiaccount from dubai. i submitted all supporting documents related to the application with all forms , police clearance, Bio-metric, and Medical test by 6th of March 2018.

since that day i didn't receive any feedback from them and my status is still "further assessment"

is there anyone here applied this year "2018" from Dubai?
and what is your application status please.

we are planning to move to Australia by early next year "2019" and i'm afraid that the processing time of 12 to 16 months will not allow us to do so.

Hi guys,

Thought I should share since this forum has been a huge help to me. I am British, partner therefore Australian.

Applied for 309/100: 12 Feb 2018
Request for more information: 21 March 2018
100 Granted : 02 July 2018

Partner and I had however been together over 3 years at the point of application so I have sent an email asking them to review the acceleration of the 100. I will update you if this gets amended.

*UPDATE* oversight by department, 100 now granted.

Thanks again to everyone who keeps this forum going. I know it can be a great support for a lot of people going through this arduous process. <img src="http://www.australiaforum.com/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" />

Hey guys I applied for the 309 in December 2017 and my husband was unable to complete the biometric test till one month later because he had returned back to Australia to study. I have not been contacted by the government and my status is on further assessment.

Has anyone else applied from Malaysa for the 309? Can you please give me an idea of what the usual processing time is?
