Haha yeah I look for news anywhere I can get it. Based on the Washington forum I'm not expecting to hear anything for at least another 9 months. Haven't even done my medical yet as it costs $600 here in South Florida and I'm not trying to pay for that twice.

I remember seeing somewhere on this forum that they were no longer being processed in Washington? I'm not sure though.... the whole process is pretty vague it seems.

If that's the Miami price, call the Tampa one. Cost might be worth the drive. I agree though that you should wait.

That's a good idea, I'll definitely look into it.

Hi , I submitted my wife’s application for 309 from india in june 2016, since then she has been in aus for year on tourist visa and we applied for another extension for tourist because there was no news on offshore 309application at that time in aug 2017 but application for tourist got rejected as u can not stay in aus for continously more than 12 months so she went back home in aug 2017 . We r still waiting for outcome for 25 months and there is no news on partner 309 , no co assigned. Our so many mails were responded by department only to advise us be paitent ur application under active consideration. That is so frustrating, i m checking if someone experiencing same situation or any advice will b appreciateted, as far as i m concerned is her emergency medical treatment during vistor visa stay in Australia

Hello all, New member here.

I submitted 309 in May and was wondering if there is a progression of statuses?

My Application status: Received...what comes after Received?

I have no idea! I just know I've seen people applying from other countries with varied processing timeframes, and the folks applying from the US all seem to be more or less in the 12mo+ timeframe. Based on that I figure we're all in the same pile, whether that pile is in Washington or Aus... no clue.

You're right, I guess that's what I've been seeing too. Looks like people from UK and Canada seem to have the shorter time frames. Lucky them!

I'm not sure what difference the talk about a new fiscal makes because there's no cap on 309 (see https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/...ng-and-queuing) but hopefully things speed up for Americans (fingers crossed)
