There is no cap, but there is a "planning level" for Family Stream visas that includes the 309.

You will find they are extremely good at planning each years visa grant numbers.

Has anyone recently applied from Canada for the 309/100? How long did you wait for a CO? Does it make sense to submit my medical before they ask? Does it actually take 13-18 months!?

Waiting4Visa. Did you also received the "application in progress" in your email??? What country did you lodged your application??

I have read your case and as per my knowledge and a thoughts of some reputed agencies I am letting you some point of view. You said that your wife was in Australia for one year continuously so in that case they probably don't touch your wife file because you have your partner with you so they give other people chance unless your wife got CO so he/she would let her know to leave Aus for making decision. Secondly, your wife came back in Aug 2017 so as per my view you should have to count from the date she came back and I think CO will assigned soon coz they take mostly 8 to 9 months unless someone lucky 😊😊

I am very sure, they wont just give other people chance. Don't think that is how they assign Case Officers either.

It doesn't matter if she's onshore or not, they'll still go on with processing the visa when they get to it. They certainly don't skip over it just because she's onshore. But if she's onshore when they're ready to grant it, then they'll ask her to leave.

No you guys misunderstood. We applied in june 2016, she was in aus on vistor visa from aug 2016 to aug 2017. Now she is waiting back home since last 11months and department did not even touch the application. Our last email’s reply to us in april2018, department said that this case has been given to external agencies for more information and let you know asap but nothing until now. Now i have applied another visitor visa and that too has no reply from 40 days.
