Hello,
I have applied through Seoul as well.
Could you share what extra information they asked you for in S56?
Also, how long was it after you submitted the medicals that your visa was granted?

S56 request:
character declaration, relationship history statements, citizenship certificate of my wife and proof of relationship between me and my wife (financial aspects, social aspects, commitments to each other and nature of house holds)
I think aspects and commitments really matters and my medical was done in10th of January

Thank you for the response.

Did Seoul ask you for the Medicals or did you upload them beforehand?

Actually processing time frame was 10-13 months at that time so I did before the embassy request.

Thank you.

You are right about the processing times.
I wouldn't risk $500 on unsolicited medicals in the current climate.

Yes, there’s an entire thread (maybe even two) dedicated to that topic.

Smile 309 timeline

Hi.

Lodged 17th November 2017.
Did not use an agent.
Did the police checks and medical soon after.
Thy, my wife, needed and extended check for TB due to Vietnam which took almost 3 months by the time that report was finalised.
Was not contacted by a case officer.
309 GRANTED: 25th of July 2018 (just over 8 months).
Processing office: Australian Embassy, HCMC, Vietnam.

Process seemed straight forward.
We only knew each other for a short time before we got married and we have a "significant" age gap. We are in love and fully committed so our evidence showed this. They made the right decision.

We did apply for a Sponsored 600 visa in December 2017 but it was denied. I think that was processed in Australia. We stated that, as we had applied for 309/100 and paid the $7,000, that Thy would certainly go back home and not do anything wrong in Australia such as work as this would risk the Partner visa application being cancelled and us loosing the fee. However, it seems, they did not even take this into account. This seems wrong as I feel it was one of the best guarantees. We were then worried the denial would affect this visa application but it seems it didn't.

Happy days
