Think it had more to do with the line "Also I heard that if main applicant is male then time take longer than female applicants."

he-said-she-said

At least I don't have to worry about what's on my phone! 😜
Despite being an avid reader since I was young grammar isn't my strongest suit.
But I'm 'straylyn not something we are known for. As I've told people in a foreign land, I don't speak English I speak Australian!

What kind of documents you submit as evidence of financial aspects ?
Since it took 4 months from the date more information request to date if grant , did you write to them in that period and ask for the status ?
Thank you

Hi,

Is it mandatory for sponsor (PR holder) to stay in Australia to apply for spouse 309 visa ?

I am from Pakistan and working/living in Saudi Arabia having valid PR (visited Australia once for three days to mature my PR).
I applied for spouse visa in June 2017 and submitted all requested documents and waiting for reply.

I am in Saudia while my spouse is in Pakistan. Co has not asked anything about Australian address/job to be sponsor.

Please response if anybody has applied 309 visa being sponsor while both husband and wife living offshore.

Hi All,

First time posting but I've just found someone who's started a petition on change.org addressed to the Department of Home Affairs about the long processing time for partner's visas. Not sure if it will help but I just feel like it's better than doing nothing.

https://www.change.org/p/department-...-partner-visas

I will also contact my local MP as well, hopefully this will bring about some attention to the tens of thousands of people waiting too long to be reunites with their partners.

I doubt it will help. Unless it makes them increase fees again to try to reduce the numbers of applicants.

Too many applications for the number of partner visa grant allocations each year. 47,825 grants each year.

62,906 Partner Visa applications were made in 2014-15
47,825 Partner Visas were granted in 2014-15

52,177 Partner Visa applications were made in 2015-16
47,825 Partner Visas were granted in 2015-16

56,333 Partner Visa applications were made in 2016-17
47,825 Partner Visas were granted in 2016-17

171,416 Partner Visa applications in 3 years with only 143,475 grants in that same 3 years. The queue is building up..

71,523 Partner Visa applications remained in the pipeline at June 2017

And there is talk of cutting the total visa grants down ...

Right now they're reaching out to media outlets such as SBS and The Project. Even if it doesn't help, it doesn't hurt to have some media coverage to raise awareness I guess.
