I applied in September 2017 via the Pretoria office and haven't heard anything yet. My husband and I have been married for more than 4 years and we submitted a complete application with police check and I already did my health check as well in March 18 but still nothing! Some ppl have applied after us and got their visas in 4-6 months via the same office but I don't know why their dragging ours for so long! It's becoming so frustrating.
I came here on a 1 year tourist visa which will expire in October 18 and we're feeling so dejected now, as the hope to get it granted before my departure date is becoming slimmer and I really don't want to go back home and wait before I can be with my husband permanently again, now that the processing time is 26 months!
It feels quite unfair the way they do the processing as our case is extremely straighforward, friends from high school, married for so many years,
it's our first marriage, we have so many pics, msg, friends and family to confirm everything.
It's quite sickening really...
Sorry for the rant.

Hello Shonz, we’re in the same boat. I submitted my 309 partner visa in June 2017 through Pretoria, South Africa as well. I was just asked for further information on 17th July 2018 that was the first contact since I submitted my application, I have uploaded the requested information last week so I’m still waiting. I’m already depressed because I haven’t seen my husband for 17 months now, I’m in Africa he’s in Australia

Oh, June 2017 and still no good news, I can understand your frustration. It makes you wonder how come some people who have applied in 2018 have already got theirs via the same office!!
I have tried sending emails, calling etc but it's just the same generic reply. They can't even tell me if I have a case officer yet.

We also applied on May 2017 and my last contact with them was on May 2018. We are still waiting...... just an update would be okay, just know if they are processing it already or iwhat is happening in our application. Still praying that it would be granted this year or before December so I could be with my husband...

any indian on PR (not citizen) who sponsored partner and who never traveled to India for straight 90 days, did you have to give a fresh Indian PCC.

Example. you applied for PR and gave Indian PCC, then after 1-2 years you apply to sponsor your partner, and meanwhile for these 2 years you NEVER traveled to India for 90 days.

Did you give old expired India PCC which you gave at the time you applied for PR or you got a new one?

or

Did the CO request you for a new one

I asked this previously but no luck on a response... Can anyone help?

Wondering if anyone has any info on the time frames the dept give when you are on shore and need to leave to have the visa granted (eg. Applied offshore for 309, go to Aus on the visitor visa and wait for the heads up that it is going to be granted).

Has anyone had this happen and what did that experience look like for you?

Depends on the validity of police/health checks. Mine still had nearly the whole year so I wasn't given a deadline to leave. I was told to go by end of May or I'd be waiting until the new fiscal year, but it wasn't a deadline per se.

I know someone personally that was given a couple weeks to leave because the validity of police/medical was expiring the same month.

I haven't personally had that happen so can only go off what I've seen posted. People have said they get a few weeks notice and then mostly seem to be told to be away for at least 5 days to allow for the visa to be processed and ready to be initiated upon return. It looks like this occurs frequently, you just need to make sure that you application includes a note that you are now onshore so that they can ask you to leave (and if you get CO contact, tell them again).
