Hi all,

309 offshore here,

Is there always a notice to leave Australia before the 309 is granted?
I need to be in Australia soon and can not afford to lose my visa if it gets granted and I am onshore at that time.
Will I have time to leave? Is there any chance I will not get a notice?
Anything you can tell me helps.
Thanks!

They cannot grant it while you're onshore, so you can't "lose it" that way.

You need to update your contact details and address in immi if you plan to stay in Oz. Also a good idea to upload your flight itinerary.

I was sent an email saying they were ready to finalize and I needed to go offshore. Some people are given deadlines to do so so make sure you never miss that email. In my case, I didn't have a deadline, but the email never got to be because they used ".cm" instead of ".com" in my email address (I never made that mistake anywhere in my application, so it was on their end). A month passed by with no response from me and fortunately a different CO picked up my case and forwarded the original email. Hate to imagine getting a refusal for missing an email.

Sky, did your immi account show this correspondence in messages, did your application status change to 'decision ready' or anything?

We got a request for more info on 30/8/18 and submitted everything by 11/9/18, our status then changed to 'further assessment', we are going offshore for a holiday to Bali in 12 days, and I am hoping that our grant will come through while we are out of the country.

Hey GGil25,

Can you please share your timeline ?
Ours has been on 'further assessment' from the last 2 months, not sure if that means anything.

Sure:

Applied for PMV 300: 7 July 2017
Status: Recieved
Got Married: 25 August 2018
Request for further info (marriage certificate, FBI and AFP checks): 30 August 2018
Status: Initial Assessment
All info provided: 11 September 2018

Current status: Further Assessment

It has been 14 months since our lodgement, only contact we have had is receipt of lodgement and request for further details.
I have been given several email addresses from the department to try to contact for info but they all end up being dead ends.

No, there were never any messages in my immi account besides the Acknowledgment of Application Received and then the visa grants. People say any email correspondence they get also shows in their immi account but that was never the case for me.

I've had two visas granted and I never saw the statuses change from "received" before changing to "finalised". If they did, they must have done the same day they were granted.
