I was told over phone by immigration worker yesterday (if you have been asked to upload further documents by immigration- e.g. police check and at this point have only uploaded the payment receipts not to press this button until actually upload the official police certs.)

I had same question as fayeht1989 but we are still waiting on police certificates to be mailed to us. SO for now we have just uploaded onto immi account the payment receipts from police departments. So I called immigration and they said not to press that button until finalised with your attachments from their request.

Makes total sense. If you haven't provided the actual information requested (e.g., police checks), why would you push the "Information provided" button?

Hi there,

We have received our first correspondence (for 309/100 visa) via email using a case officer name and department ID requesting criminal checks to be done. On the attachment they provided it said to reply 'at the details below' but it didn't have any specific details. I read somewhere on the attachment though that we can upload documents via immiaccount which we have done for the receipts. We have to wait for the actual certificates as they are being mailed out to us. So they will come after the deadline of 15 days and then we will upload them onto immiaccount.

a) How do we know the case officer has received the uploaded document? I am under the understanding we don't click the bottom link button of uploads page until we actually upload the certificates.

b) Do we just ignore the email itself and don't reply as they didn't actually provide an email address to respond and it will likely not get read if we respond to the original email?

Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone, I have just joined this forum. So greetings to everyone here.
I have just applied for my wife sc 309. I know it's waiting from here inwards. But if someone could briefly tell how much should we expect for visa to come through and steps or procedure it is from here onwards. Thank you so much.

Hi Kam143,

as you said from this moment onwards it is a waiting game.
Depending on where you or your partner is from and how much evidence you supplied at lodgement your first contact should be within a year. most countries within the first 6 months.

if you haven't front loaded your application with medical and police clearances that will be the first email from immigration to look out for. if you have uploaded everything and they dont require anything else from you you may not get any contact at all until you get your grant.

Make sure you keep uploading documents as often as possible to show a continuing relationship. and make sure your sponsorship application is lodged asap, as all sponsorship applications will be processed first through the Perth office in Australia. once the sponsorship application has passed the screening in Perth your application will get sent to the applicants country for processing

PS. Sponsorship application is not a Form 40sp

Keep in mind i am not a migration agent this is all information i have gathered and read up on since the changes in July 2018.

Hi Kam, welcome.

Every case is different and that will determine your processing time. I say realistically expect 12 months at least but you could get lucky and have it earlier. What would definitely help is making sure all the required documents / supporting evidence have been uploaded correctly and make the job of the CO easy as that will definitely speed up the process.

Hi there,

My wife (australian) and I (USA) applied for the 309/100 visa at the end of July 2018. We have front loaded all that we can at this point, and have not seen any change of status from received still.

I have looked for responses from people in the USA, but I have not seen anything. Does anyone know what to expect in general from the US processing times (I know they can vary greatly). It looks like London is close to 6 months and other places are quick as well.

Thank you, and good luck to everyone out there!

I'm not sure how to post links but there is a thread for 309/100 applicants through the Washington D.C. office that is fairly active. The processing times is one of the main topics of conversation there. We estimate it to be around 14 months on average at the moment but every case is different obviously. We also keep a list of grants to kind of keep track of the processing times if you want to add your name to it.
