Smile And another win

Soo after 6 months of waiting we received a tourist visa for 12 months with multiple entries and each length of stay restricted to 6 months. then 3 weeks later before we could even activate the visitor Visa we received the 309 visa's for my wife and daughter. looks like they are working their way through the end of may start of June applications. Applied through London high commission, the same officer who granted the Visitor visa, also granted the 309 less than 3 weeks later. the only contact was with my daughters father to see if he had given permission for her to travel. that was it. no contact with anybody else. and after that call, the visa was granted about 30 minutes later. we had front loaded all documents and requested paperwork, probably gave too much but then we have a very long relationship together.

I had my 309/100 granted today, applied in March from London, no contact at all between then and now! Planning the move to Sydney in late January. Just under 8 months.

Just thought I'd share my timeline... 5 months from application submitted to grant; applied from UK, issued by London Australian Embassy.

What my application looked like: front-loaded medical and police clearances, plenty of photos presented as a series of annotated PDF documents for each family holiday. Receipts from joint travel and hotel accommodation. Some sample bank statements from each year been together. Copy of Will and documentation showing partner registered as beneficiary of pension etc. Transcript of chats, relevant social media excerpts (Facebook) showing relationship is known to friends. Statements completed within each of the 2000 character limits on the application form only. Form 888's by 5 Australian friends. Also completed Form 80 and attached just in case they wanted it.

Application submitted: 06 JUNE 2018
Files uploaded by: 10 JUNE 2018
309 and 100 GRANTED: 12 NOVEMBER 2018

Hey Everybody, So glad to find this forum. I’m Australian and my husband is Nepalese. We applied June 2017 then got an email November 2017 asking for Medical/police check and haven’t heard anything since 😩😩 it’s been 17 months this month and the wait is killer. Our lawyer from Melbourne told us another couple he was dealing with (Nepali and Aussie couple also) had just got their visa and the wait was 24 months.. I’ve been living in Nepal the whole 17 months and we just want to go homeeeeee together. Anxiously waiting that email as I’m torn between missing my family to much and not wanting to leave my husband. 💔

Hi there everyone!

well 2 days ago we applied for the 309/100 from Austria, I wanna move back home to Australia (im aussie btw) and my wife is Austrian, married over 7 years now and looking forward to VB and tim tams every day! (Joking! well maybe )

I just read somwhere that the sponsor has to apply first? is this true? i never noticed this at all while applying.. my wifes application was done first.

also we uploaded all of my documents and hers and our proof on the applicant portal, should i upload the same documents onto my sponsor application which prove that im an Australian citizen? i will guess no because its doubling up the same info.

and, do i need to fill out the paper sp40? the reason I ask is because i cant find where to download it from the immi website, and the one i downloaded from just googling it was from 2010..

looking forward to some replies!
