I just read somwhere that the sponsor has to apply first? is this true? i never noticed this at all while applying.. my wifes application was done first.

also we uploaded all of my documents and hers and our proof on the applicant portal, should i upload the same documents onto my sponsor application which prove that im an Australian citizen? i will guess no because its doubling up the same info.

and, do i need to fill out the paper sp40? the reason I ask is because i cant find where to download it from the immi website, and the one i downloaded from just googling it was from 2010..

looking forward to some replies!
Yes you will need to submit a new Sponsor application on IMMI, its free and you will have to link it to your wife's application as the individual being sponsored. Its a shorter application but with similar questions on the relationship (now from your perspective). No need to fill any paper forms as a sponsor. As for documents, I would upload the IDs, proof of address etc nothing more

No, at the moment it's not possible for the sponsor to apply first. Those are proposed changes to have the sponsor apply first and be approved before the applicant can apply.

No, don't upload things twice.

There's an online sponsor form. You would have seen it in immi as it's exactly where you select the 309/100 application and it's also where the stage 2 form is when it's time for that. In immi, click new application, then family, then you'll find the sponsor form among the three options.

How long did it take for you to receive your grant letter? My husband was told to return offshore and still hasn’t gotten a letter

I would like to share with you all of the good news I have received today😍😍😍 My 309 visa is just approved!!!! 😱😱😱😱
Im from Philippines but we used Australian Visa service from perth (MMA VISA). We never had anything with both of our names in it. Never had any joint accounts. No child together. He is Australian. I'm Filipino(😁obviously)
309 lodged 13, April 2018

Sept. 28---was asked for more info(child's birth cert.) provided in less than 5 days.

Nov. 15, 2018( 309) approved!

Congratulations! All the best to you and your family on your adventure together in Australia. We applied in January and still waiting for a response or any contact at all. Such a long wait but totally worth it.

They wouldn't have put the boxes in both applications if they wanted you to copy and paste statements.
