Hopefully not much longer now.
Thank you Mish for kind reply. I am trying to be positive.

Hi guys,

Just a quick question on 309 to 100. If I have been granted a 309 and were to apply for 100 after 2 years would that have to be offshore or onshore?

Thanks in advance!

Onshore. DIBP will contact you about 2 months before the eligibility date with all the information. The eligibility is 2 years after you lodged the 309.

One more data point, Offshore (Japan) application in June last year, has now been eight months and no contact from Immigration. Were quoted five months at the time of application, looks like waiting times have really blown out.

Hi all,

Me and my partner just applied for our 309 visa 2 days ago from NZ. I am aussie and she is american. We have been living here together for 14 months (I took a 1 year leave from university to be able to move here and get this visa sorted). unfortunately in 2 weeks I have to return to Aus and she has to stay here as we cannot afford for her not to be working! We are in a similar situation to a lot of people here as I can tell. We are also a same-sex couple (haven't seen many of those around!), do you think that will make any kind of difference to our application? A little disheartening to see that the wait times on the immi website are wrong (we were hoping and praying for 5 months), but what can you do but wait I suppose. If we submitted our medical checks and police checks with our visa i'm assuming our next point of contact with immi is when we get a case officer? (not holding our breath for that to happen any time soon)

Anyway just thought I would pop by and say hi and that it's nice to know other people are going through what we are

Cassie
