We front loaded everything, and received no communication from the department during this time!

Advice - Be patient and it will just surprise you one day!
That's great news!! Good luck to the both of you!! It's certainly heart warming to hear about 309 visa grants.

Hi,
My wife's application status for stage 2 partner visa 100 shows "Submitted" since she applied almost 23 months ago and had no contacts fro Immi since then. I wonder why some application status shows "Submitted" while others show "Received" and is there a reason for each status?

Thanks.

I just got my 309 visa yesterday. I want to share my timeline with you who has submitted the application.
I applied on March 2018,through Australian consulate in Guangzhou China.
My partner and I have been together for 8 years, and recently got married. We were really lucky got a case officer in April, 2018, did my medical check as well as AFP. And we didn't hear anything till September, that I have to do my Chinese non-criminal documents. And it is long wait again till January this year that they confirm the phone numbers with us, that we were thinking they are going to conduct a phone interview. And waited for another 2 month, on the 1st March, someone called me, asked me some of the personal questions, and 12 days later I got my visa.
Took me a year to get it, and the waiting is long, especially after you hand in all the documents, all you can do is wait. But while you are waiting keep uploading the documents supporting the relationship, this will makes the process a lot quicker in my opinion.
I hope everyone who has been waiting for a long time will get their visa soon!

Hi,

First time post.

We submitted offshore partner visa on Jan 25th, 2019. On March 6th I got a request for my medical. I expected to hear that we had an officer first, so was surprised. I am not sure what this means about where the process is.

The medical says it's for a partner type 100 (permanent).

Info about us that's relevant:

Applied using an agent. He is Aussie born and raised. I am from the US. We spent 7 months putting everything together. Applied offshore since we live in Eurasia for work.

We have been married for 9 years and together for 11.

Many people never get a single case officer. Your application might be looked at by several people, before the grant is finalised.

We never heard from anyone, just lodged everything then got the grant, after an average time.

Ah thanks. I thought that since I heard nothing except the medical request that perhaps they have looked at some things already to confirm that a medical is warranted. Do they just ask when they open it (seems wasteful, if they are going to potentially reject people)?

On our 300 visa, the medical option was given just after we applied. It was an automatic thing. Those who did it obviously didn't get asked later, but those who didn't do it quickly, did get a request for it later.

Thanks. I was hoping for better, but still very helpful! I wish I knew if it was being processed thru the UK or Russia (no visa services in KZ embassy). We would like to find new jobs, but hubby is worried that this would cause problems with the visa.

Hi, I am new to this forum. Wanted to know if the condition for sponsor to be a usual resident of Australia would affect my spouse offshore application. I am Australian PR. After receiving the grant in December 2017, I validated my PR with initial entry in March 2018 and came back immediately to get married in Dec 2018. I am still in India. Wanted to know if anyone with same situation has been given grant or rejected.
