My partner and I have been together for 8 years, and recently got married. We were really lucky got a case officer in April, 2018, did my medical check as well as AFP. And we didn't hear anything till September, that I have to do my Chinese non-criminal documents. And it is long wait again till January this year that they confirm the phone numbers with us, that we were thinking they are going to conduct a phone interview. And waited for another 2 month, on the 1st March, someone called me, asked me some of the personal questions, and 12 days later I got my visa.
Took me a year to get it, and the waiting is long, especially after you hand in all the documents, all you can do is wait. But while you are waiting keep uploading the documents supporting the relationship, this will makes the process a lot quicker in my opinion.
I hope everyone who has been waiting for a long time will get their visa soon!
Congratulations. I am still waiting for my husband's visa (subclass 309) for the past 18 months. Did the phone interview with Colombo in 20th December 2018 and waiting.

Hey guys, I know this question is probably extremely broad compared to most but I was just wondering, how did you guys decide if you should or shouldn't use a migration agent? We're applying for a 309 (from the UK) soon as a de facto same sex relationship and I need to make a decision about either finding an agent or doing it all myself but I'm finding it hard to choose.

Hi!
We didn't think we had any complications and once I figured out the format I was going to use (mainly PowerPoint), I felt comfortable doing it without an agent. I asked a few questions on this forum and made sure I covered every aspect in depth. It was A LOT of work!
Good luck

It really depends on your case. If you or your partner had any past relationships and if the department needs to be aware of it, then I would suggest to hire an agent as the department will see this as a complicated processing and can take up to 2 years for the grant. Otherwise you can apply by yourselves. From my experience, a straight-forward application takes up to 12 months for processing with up fronted documents.

Online Immi Account

Hi everyone,

I am very new to this forum and I have seen everybody here helps each other a lot. Can anyone tell me if I would be able to register online and create an Immi Account to track my husband's Partner Visa 309 processing time? We used an agent for his application and he won't give the login details to me.

If any of you had experience similar to this, please let me know.

Tell your agent you need to apply a visitor visa by yourself by logging into your account.. he should then give you the credentials. My agent has given us access to our account.
