re . point 6 , may I ask what the new rule about partner visa is please ? i know they change things occasionally to make it more stressful and difficult ! ( wry smile ) .
I don't understand the question.
BPay for anything can take 2-3 business days to clear. What new rule are you referring to?

So, basically the new rule says that there will be assessment of the Sponsor prior to the Partner Visa application. Only after it gets approved, the main application will be received or something along that sense.

It is a bit of a worry for me as well because I am preparing my application for the past few weeks and there has been delays in preparing documents. So, I would want to act fast which means I have to attach the essay on relationship details separately.

One of the members here this afternoon advised that people do it this way (just writing "refer to the attached document" in the application form) and uploading the full relationship essay in a separate document.

Does anyone know about this methodology ?

Cheers.

sorry, i think my reply went on wrong person who now posts about change to
sponsor rules and assessment of the Sponsor prior to the Partner Visa application.
It might be especially relevant for me as I am subject to the 5 year rule . Would not wish anyone to go through what I went through in late 2015 ! ( wry smile )

may I ask if this means that the assessment of the aussie sponsor has to be approved or otherwise PRIOR TO the offshore or onshore spouse or partner lodging the partner
visa application with huge fee ? Hope so but can find nothing about by googling it but will keep trying.

wishful thinking on my part as shown hereunder . of course they will grab the massive fee and keep it whatever happens ! How could I possibly think they might have
been fair minded ! ( wry smile ) .

We will refuse the visa application if you don't provide the checks or give us consent to disclose any relevant offences to the applicant. We could also refuse the visa application if you don't provide the police checks within a reasonable time.

See how to provide a police check.

Consider these requirements carefully before you lodge your sponsorship or visa application. We won't refund the visa application charge if we refuse the visa application.

saw the following from a mgration agent . Must be joking about the time taken surely !

Impact:
The new Bill requires the partner to first lodge their sponsorship application and be approved before partner visa can be lodged.

It is unclear how long the decision process of the sponsorship application will take, current process times are approximately 12 to 18 months.

Yes, but apparently for a much smaller fee, thereby saving some applicants the bigger fee, if the sponsor is refused.

I think that agent just copied what was in the newspaper about it. I saw that a few migration agents used the exact same phrase.

There was no 'current' sponsor application, so no 'current' processing times for it.
The 'current' full partner visa processing time, for one visa at that time, was 12-18 months (ie: 75% in under 12 months)

The new Bill does require the partner to first lodge their sponsorship application and be approved before partner visa can be lodged.

No idea on times yet, but as this is now effective for Parent visas, and those visa applicants can begin to apply 10 weeks after the sponsors are allowed to apply, it seems the processing time is expected to be under 10 weeks.
Applications to sponsor a parent for a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visa will be open from 17 April 2019.

The sponsorship application fee is $420.

Once a sponsorship application has been approved, a sponsored parent will be able to apply for a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visa subclass 870.

Applications for the visa are intended to open from 1 July 2019
We will know the actual times after some have been done

You guys should get your sponsors to contact their local member as immigration has to respond asap when recieving docs from local members. I have heard it helps others. I have already done mine and spoken to immigration who is fast tracking my visa due to other circumstances.
But be aware its election so maybe worth forwarding it after election.
What is meant by local member. Can you explain?

My DOL is 24 Feb 2018 and its over 14 months now waiting...

Hi all,

I have a few queries regarding the tourist visa which my wife is going to apply once the partner visa has been lodged.

Which tourist visa is the one should she go for ? Tourist Stream or Sponsored family stream ? She is coming here to stay with me until the partner visa has been approved and in the mean time she will also sit for medical related exams. So, what would be the best option ?

How long should we wait before we apply the tourist visa ? Within a few days after Partner Visa has been lodged or a few weeks ? Do we need to upload all the supporting documents in partner visa first and then only apply for tourist visa ? I know there is no perfect answer to this but what is general idea ? Applying too soon would make our case less strong or has it got nothing to do with Partner Visa ?

Cheers.

Hi there, you can apply tourist or family stream doesn't really matter the type actually. you can apply after few weeks but don't forget to submit her employment papers since they refused mine because i didn't show that and on second time when I submitted that I got the visa but only for 1 month. you need to do the medicals for Partner visa and the same will work for tourist too which means you don't need to do another test. about the rest of the supporting documents, you can upload whenever you can. supporting documents for partner visa won't be much helpful for tourist except medical ones.

Tourist visa has nothing much to do with partner one. they won't consider giving you tourist visa just because you've done Partner one but make them believe that your wife will get back to home country before visa expires, that's all! I'm not expert but saying due to my experience.
