Hi all,

I am also from Kenya. My wife is an Aussie. Applied in July 2014. 7 months and 10 days since application date. No news so far and I am not expecting any soon.

Hassan

Quick question: what constitutes a "complete" application?

The reason I ask is because I submitted, uploaded a bunch of evidence, then several months later realised that I had forgotten to upload one piece of evidence that I'd consider essential. I uploaded that but was wondering whether this could have affected my place in the queue, and also wanted to know whether there was any way of knowing that the submitted application was "complete" as per Immi's requirements. The only feedback I have had so far is the status is in "Processing" status.

What is this of evidence you speak of?

I thought my wife wasn't going to have her Visa granted as we kept delaying evidence (due to both of us drowning in work). However, it felt like as long as they had the medical, the police check, evidence of a shared life (financial, proof of address etc), stat decs and Form 80, everything else was just icing on the cake. We were even about to do Form 1221 tonight and upload it tomorrow, but apparently that's not necessary!

Don't worry too much about it. If they feel like they are lacking evidence, they will let you know through email. They won't just cancel your visa and not tell you why!

Yeah it was one of the stat decs.

I gave call to immigration today and they told me it was based on the day your application was acknowledged but in that case there must be something else holding up our application.

What have you got to upload? We only uploaded two stat decs (both from my friends... my wife's "friends" have yet to finish theirs!!!) but they still approved it.

In the end we didn't upload Form 1221 and were originally going to upload one or two more photos along with one or two more stat decs.

Ok that's a bit reassuring. Although it sounds like you had the minimum 2 stat decs already uploaded.
