And what additional documents do I have to add for the 100 visa? Just general proof that we are still together? Do I have to update strictly all the "topics" of fininacial, social, commitment etc. again as well? Or just update in general what we have been doing since last time we updated for the 309 visa? And I assume I also have to leave Australia to get the 100 visa granted as well?
You might get a reminder email but it's simply that, a reminder. You do not need to get that email to be able to do stage 2. In fact, it's completely your responsibility to remember to do it.

You can do the online form and submit your documents up to one month prior eligibility, but they won't look at it prior to eligibility.

For the most part, you're doing all the same stuff you did for stage one. So you need new F888s, supply any police checks that you didn't already supply for stage 1 (if applicable), and all the same type of evidences (yes, for all categories) since the grant of the 309. No medical as you already did the medical for the permanent visa during stage 1. The sponsor will need to do a specific stat dec form, which is found on the website.

No, you do not need to leave Australia for the grant of the 100. It can be granted while you're anywhere in the world, including Australia.

Looks like the processing time for the 309 visa has changed to 13 months from 15 months for 75% of applications!

Hello-

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct thread, but I wanted to post an update on our visa grant

We applied for the 309 on 26 Dec 2016, and it was granted in Nov 2017.

We applied for the 100 visa (second stage) on Jan 2019 and we were approved today on 23 May 2019.

We are shocked but grateful to be approved so soon - we really didn't expect it.

I hope all your visa applications are granted soon! X

Hi Everyone,
Congratulations to those who have been granted the visa. Must be worth the wait.

My wife has applied for 309 and is about to apply for family sponsored tourist visa.
I have a few questions.

1. We are thinking of applying either upto six or upto 12 months visa. But not sure which one to do. Would 12 months be too much to ask for ? If we apply for 6 months she may end up getting 3 months. And applying 12 months may increase the chances of getting a 6 months visa. It does not work that way but just hoping this may work like this. What do you guys reckon based on your experience ?

2. She will be applying for the leave from her employer which she will get without any big deal. Just wondering what is the reasonable length of the leave ? I feel like a 12 months leave for a family sponsored visa looks a bit longer ? I mean 6-9 months would be Okay. Would it be alright if she get her employer to approve 9 months leave and she applies for a 12 months family sponsored visa ?

3. In Page 3 of the online application form, the applicant is asked:
Previous travel to Australia
Has this applicant previously applied for a visa to Australia?
Yes/No
Because she has applied for 309 would the answer be yes or is this something to do with Previous application or travel under Tourist visa ?

4. Page 9 of the application form.
Does the applicant intend to enter Australia on more than one occasion?
If they grant her a visa more than 9 months visa, I suppose entering Australia on more than one occasion would not be necessary. How would I answer this ?

5. Page 14 of the application form.
Health insurance
Does the applicant have health insurance arranged for their stay in Australia?
Currently there is no health insurance but once she arrives I will arrange it. So, can I put the answer to this question as a No ?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Cheers.

Hello all,
I applied visa 309 on 15/Nov/2018 in Hong Kong. After 6 months, I received the reply form the Immigration Department for additional information.
1. My Hong Kong Police Check
2. My sponsor’s Hong Kong Police Check
3. My sponsor – Character requirement – Australian Federal Police (AFP) clearance Nation Police Check
They only requested the above 3 documents. Does it imply that the other information such as evidence of Financial aspect and social aspect of the relationship is enough?
Normally how long do I wait for granting the visa? From your experience.

Lodged it in Hong Kong 2018 June.
I also applied in Hong Kong in Nov 2018.
Do you required to submit Hong Kong Police check?
How long did you wait after sending all additional information?

Hello, Just an update, My husband is Nepali and visa is being processed through Delhi immigration. We applied June 23rd 2017, so today marks 23 months waiting.. recently received a phone interview about 6 weeks ago and had to redo the medical and police check as first ones had expired. Now still waitinggggg (before 6 weeks ago we literally didn’t hear from them for like 22 months) Hopefully anyday now 😭😭

Since you are at 23 months, they may be waiting one more month to possibly grant both the 309 and the 100 visas. If I were you, I'd upload more evidences since you applied for the visa, to show your relationship is still ongoing. Hopefully, they'll grant both visas and you won't have to worry anymore. Think positive! I've seen this happen a few times now.
