I have a few questions :

1. When visa is granted, is it always by email?
2. When visa is granted, does the status on immi change to finalised or granted?
3. Does the status of the sponsor also change to finalised?
4. Do all applicants always have a telephone interview, no matter which country you apply from? (offshore).

It's just good to know these things in preperation for a grant.

Thanks in advance.

1. I think you are supposed to receive notification by email however there have been instances where people have not received the emails and have found out by logging into IMMI or a Vevo check.
2. Again, technically yes it should update to Finalised however again there have been instances where it hasn't immediately changed after getting the grant email. I doubt one would log back in after getting the email to check this. You'd be off celebrating and planning your move.
3. This I do not know..
4. No a telephone interview is not mandatory... nor does it signify an incomplete application.. it's a judgement call made by the case officer based on the information provided..

Views above are my opinions based on information I have read on this and other related forums...

Hi,

I'm also from Malaysia. Glad to know that I am not alone 🙂

I've submitted mine on 27th Apr 2019. Police check completed on 25th May 2019 and medical on 27th July 2019. My current status is under further assessment. What about yours?

Back to your question, based on what I had read, some reported within 3 - 7 days. You can check the earlier messages if you have time to read up!

Do you intend to enter via Long term tourist visa while waiting for the approval?

My timeline is as below:
Date of lodgement : 17th feb 2019
Medical and biometric : 25th feb 2019

Visa 309 finally granted today! 😁
It has been a long 8 months!
I was waiting inside Australia on an ETA and was asked to leave the country in order for visa outcome.

Dear Members I lodged 309 on 14 Jan 2019. Got RFI and front loaded everything. Got RFI asking for sponsor's Police clearance only on 4th October 2019. Does it mean everything else i submitted is approved?
