Just wondering if anybody knows how long the waiting period might be after the visa status is on 'Further Assessment'? We have noticed the status change from 'Submitted' to 'Received' to 'Initial Assessment' and then to 'Further Assessment' (about 2 months ago), so we're hopeful this means we're not far away from it being processed, but we can't find anywhere whether this might be the case or not.

Anybody else on 'Further Assessment', or a status that is further along the process? We applied through Belgrade.
I’m on ‘Further Assessment’ as well.
Applied in March, changed to ‘initial assessment’ in April, then changed to ‘Further assessment’ in Jun, received RFI in July.
Still waiting now
Was your RFI for medicals and or police check? I havnt recieved any, i frontloaded it, and updated it every two months since lodging
Yes, it was for Medicals. Police checks were front-loaded.
I haven’t updated any more evidences about relationship after I clicked the button’ i confirm I have provided all evidences’ in June ( yes it was ‘initial assessment ‘before I undated all my documents)
Should we updating regularly?
Ohk. Yeah if there is any new significant milestone in the relationship, say birth of a child or perhaps a recent joint travel , or purchase, then yeah you should update them. Or if it haz been a long time since u lodged and havnt heard from them, u can update with proof of constant communication during those long waiting periods.

About 4 months now on further assessment.
Also about 4 months on further assessment. Applied through Colombo. Seems the grants have really dried up recently

Hi Guys,
We are in same boat.
Applied in January 2019
We received s56 Request on 16/10 (A month ago) it was mainly for all the documents we attached already except online 40sp. I did online 40sp and then clicked on I have attached all the documents. after clicking on it, straight away initial assessment was changed into Further statement. waiting game now.
I am still updating things here and there, like your call records while away from each other, new bills etc, money you send to your partner for assistance.

Note thats both onshore and offshore visas.
I think off memory from a article that there is about 60000 applications a year and increasing every year
Thanks for that. I was responding to a post about skill based visas taking longer. It's odd that some people here are still waiting from at least 2018.

Hi,

I am currently living with my wife overseas and until her visa is approved. It has been almost 11 months now.

I have my father who has kidney failure and is in a very bad condition. I wan't to go and see him, but I don't wan't to leave my wife behind and I would like my wife to meet him before anything happens to him.

My question is, if I provide a medical certificate about my father being in a critical condition, would the Australian embassy speed up my wife's application?

Thank you

Am sorry for what your father is going through. I do wish him a speedy recovery. You can apply for visitor visa and support with a compelling and compassionate letter about your father and why you wish your wife to meet him. That would be a best option than to use that certificates to wish for a speedy process of the 309. Visitor visa takes few weeks to process

Thanks everyone - really appreciate your responses! I hope that everyone hears some news soon. It's incredibly frustrating. I'm also not sure how often I should be uploading additional documents. Medicals and police check have both been done, and all additional evidence has been provided. In total we have about 280 pages of evidence already covering all areas... and my partner worries that if we keep uploading more then it will take even longer, but I also am mindful that time keeps going on and maybe we should update about things like, for example, that we have been volunteering on the same project for the past few months, and we have changed the way we manage our money.. It's so hard to know.
