This is for subclass 309.

Just need to make sure that this form is needed
yes you need that form,

Hi Guys

Just a quick update from for the Form 40SP question.

I rang the department of Immigration just to clarify my Form 40SP question and according to them, follow the steps as outlined below. A lady answered the call and was very helpful, she asked me to login to immi account and explained the whole process.
Steps:
1.Fill out the forms and pay/lodge the visa 309. Note here, there applicant is my partner and I am the sponsor.
2. Once you have lodged it, you get a TRN Number. It is also there on the Letter of Acknowledgement.
3. Create another immi account on the name of the sponsor (myself).
4. Create a new application.
5. Go to 4th Option > Family and click on "Sponsorship for a Partner to Migrate to Australia (300,309/100,820/801)"
6. Fill out the form and upload the documents.

Pretty sure you guys knew most of this already but just a good information to have.

Thanks for the help guys.

Current global processing times for Nov 19:
75% processed under 17 months. 10% has taken more than 20 months.

No recent stats for the New Delhi AHC.

In the 17/18 fiscal year for New Delhi: 50% processed under 223 days.

Hi All, I've just realised I posted this first in the onshore forum and it should be here in the offshore!! sorry!! I've copied and pasted below again

I've got a couple of quick questions, apologies if these have been answered previously. A little about us - I'm an Australian, been with my British partner for 7 years (not married) living in England. We submitted his visa application on the 1st of September 2019, uploaded all documents included police checks/health checks by 1st October 2019. After receiving the initial application received email we haven't heard anything, which doesn't overly concern me as I know these things take time (but fingers crossed they contact us before the checks expire!).

So my questions

- The status of his visa application is Family stage 1 - Received and mine is Family sponsorship - submitted. Does that seem correct/Normal?
- Do you receive an email if you're assigned an agent or if everything is good with your application do you just receive an email saying its approved or come in for an interview etc?
- How soon after you submit do agents normally contact you for more information, if needed?
- If I hear nothing after say 9 months or so should I contact the immigration office to inquire?

Thanks so much!

Hello Laura,

I can give you few answers of your questions based on my experience. I pray that you get a different and better experience

It is totally fine if you get one submitted and one received, do not worry about that, sometimes from received it can directly go to grant as well

-As far as CO is concerned, you don't get nay email if a CO has been allocated. You will get a correspondence from them only if they require more information or if they want you to have an interview, which will be at a very near stage of the GRANT.
The best thing to have is directly a GRANT, coz if they keep asking you more information, the longer your application will take to be granted

-It depends, some people do get it in 2 to 4 months, I haven't received anything and its been 8 months.

-You are more than welcome to contact them, most probably they will say its within their global processing time, or will tell you that it is being processed. However, do not believe in things that says that if you enquire it delays your Decision. Do not trust that,

I'll update my last reply to you then. (the rest still applies)

The last four 309's from the UK (that I have seen) took:
9, 4, 16 and 9 months from application.

RFI's seem faster at between 3 and 6 months after application.

Hey Laura,

I am in a similar boat to yourself.
I am British and my partner is Australian. We live in New Zealand.

We applied for the Visa on 11 November 2019.
Everything is front loaded as I had most stuff from NZ Visa applications.

The application status is currently on initial assessment and I think this happened about 3 weeks after submitting the application. The sponsorship visa (40sp) was completed around 2 weeks after however the status remains submitted.

That said, we have not had any contact from a CO despite being in the initial assessment stage. (Not really expecting any contact for a long time though)

This might help in relation to expectations around status changes.

Cheers,

Tash
