(And to answer Roadster, yes we had front loaded everything except for the police checks which we did ASAP after the RFI - thank you for asking).

So we were 5 days short of one year in our approval process.

Not sure if anyone knows this but normally when I have travelled to Australia I have had to get an ETA. For our next trip/when we move over do I just bring a printout of the Visa approval letter? Nothing needs to go in my passport (any stickers)? Qantas would be ok with this to let me board?

Thanks.
Congratulations Ally!

No more visa stickers for Oz

Just take a printout of the Visa grant letter to show the airlines.

Congratulations!

Your visa is linked to your passport, so no need to take information regarding it.

Hello everybody!
I am Isaac from Finland. I have applied for 309 visa in June 10th 2019 and until now I have not heard a thing. I have uploaded my medicals on 20.6.2019. I was planning to move to Australia to live with my partner on an visitor visa(651) so if my medical expire in one year (20.6.2020), is it possible for me to do the new ones in Australia or I have to come back to Finland and do it here?
Thanks for any advice

Yes, you can do your medicals in Australia. No need to go back to Finland for that.

Since you have applied in June 19, it could take bit longer to hear from DHA. Some people get grants even without any prior contacts. Some gets quickly, some takes longer. It is a waiting game.

It will be the same for police checks, you will have to do one for each country resided in, in the last 10 years.

Yes I know I will do the police checks before I leave Finland. They take about two weeks here.
