Hello guys.
So i have seen people asking whether they can apply for visitor visa after 309. I did the same and 7 months later My visitor visa got granted for 1 year unlimited stay. So it is possible just need a little bit of patience.

My husband and I applied for our 309 in April 18, we were coming to Aus in Dec 18 as that is when my UK visa was due to expire. Our plan was to bring him to Aus on 6 month tourist stream citing all the key dates for those 6 months incase the 309 was not granted before we flew.

That was granted the day after we applied. Our 309 came through in October anyway so we didn't end up needing the Tourist visa anyway and 309 overrode it.

It does happen, just gotta be thorough with your info

We're in a somewhat similar boat with some differences. We've been married since earlier 2016 and our son is almost 3. Applied for 309/100 on 30th June, 2019 (from Japan via Seoul office).

Hopefully 309 and 100 would be issued together for both of us!

The only thing we didn't front load was the PCC and the medicals as I had been told it expires after 12 months. We had the medicals done 3 months after the submission and waited until earlier this month to contact the visa office regarding our application (since we haven't heard anything yet). We emailed the Japanese office (email on the embassy website) first asking how do we go about the Japanese PCC, as well as mentioning that we are expecting our 2nd child in a few months' time and would be helpful if the visa could be issued before or after our 3-months trip to Australia (so that my husband doesn't have to leave the country for it to be issued)... and was forwarded to a Korean CO.

The Korean CO contacted us 2 days later and issued an RFI, and I'll be picking up the Japanese PCC next week before uploading it all and emailing her back.

So hopefully, things would start to pick up from here and make it in time. We're leaving for Australia in less than 3 months....

Are you saying that you got refused once and have now applied again? I didn't think they would grant to someone who'd already been refused.

Now that you've mentioned it I wonder if the odd email triggers something. I was wanting to ask them a related question but wasn't sure! I can't actually find a Visa-specific email on the London embassy website though 😞
