Hello Pinkiestar,
Due to your pregnancy, and depending how far that is already, you may find, if you are only approved for a 3 month visa, and / or a 6 month visa, and either of those stays, means you may be 8 months pregnant when the visa expires, and cannot fly out of country, they may not even grant a tourist visa.

So you did biometrics? We did online application and done no biometrics. They also stated applicants from Afghanistan do not need a police check. Is it correct?

PinkLady,
Yes I have CO, done medical and police check as well.
Maybe because of I'm living in Aus at this moment that caused the delay?

Our online application moved from "Submitted" to "Stage 1" a couple of months ago but apart from that we haven't heard anything and haven't been assigned a CO as yet.

Basically I was just after a general idea of how long people, who have submitted applications around the same time, have had to wait to be assigned a CO and progress further.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Damien,

Sounds like we are in similar positions, perhaps you have a different case officer than us that doesn't contact you until they need you to do the medical. However, If you were worried, I would suggest just emailing them inquiring as to your status with a CO. We've had to email a couple of times, and they usually get back to you within a few days.

Hi i am also afghan sponsoring my husband from afg.

Is your partner male or female? Have you been asked to complete the form 80 character check done with asio? If so you could be waiting another 11 months for your partners visa to be granted. I would wait another month before doing the medicals and police checks.

Also, how long after lodgement did your partner do biometrics?
