Hi Peru Waiting,

Sorry to break the bad news but you might have to wait till next year to get your visa granted. We applied early December 2014 and we haven't heard anything back from immi yet.

I've noticed that the people who are getting their visa granted this month are the ones who applied in August/ September last year.

Hi Sakura88.
I'm fine thanks. Sorry just reply to you, we just get back from our big holiday trip.
The requirements is quite a lot for this visa. Here is the link for Partner Migration booklet. I hope you can open it.

PS. Keep all of the bills, photos, etc espcially when you both have holiday, dinner or other special occasions.

wish you luck with the application.

cheers

Hi!
I thought I'd come back and return to the waiting room to let you know how we've gone and or experiences.

We applied in NZ at the start of December 2014. I'm Australian, my partner French. Heard NOTHING from them. My partner was obviously anxious and called them often with the answer: stop calling us, we will call you.

All of a sudden on April 17 2015, after no word, a case officer told us to get a medical. We were a little delayed in getting it. Submitted it on the friday and the FOLLOWING MONDAY (May 5) we got approval.

It was so quick. No interviews, no other things but the medical. Obviously our application was good enough and convicing enough (it was HUGE).

We arrived here in Aus on August 7 with no troubles at all.

I hope that helps anyone who's applying now.

Hey Harper.
Have you guys been contacted for your medical stuff? my husband got asked to do his medical a week or so after applying, but we had a bit of a delay in getting the all clear from the medical officer from the chosen practice.
I hope you get your visa soon too. Its annoying South Americans are a high risk country

Hi Peru Waiting,

We haven't been contacted at all. Sometimes immi asks for medicals straight after ones application is submitted and sometimes they wait 9-11 months to ask. I don't know what their deal is!

Any complications with your visa?

Good luck!

We also applied for a visitor visa (600) on 27/6/2015 for my wife and hopefully this will come through, we lodged a visitor visa prior to submitting the partner visa application and were refused, so hopefully we have better luck now and the partner visa is seen as incentive to return.

Let the waiting begin!!
Hi there,

I have similar position, Did you have any luck with applying for a visitor visa after your partner visa application?

We've applied for a partner visa earlier this year and are still waiting! Booked a flight this week hoping to spend 4 months in Oz as I'm pregnant so if we don't hear anything soon will have to apply for a visitor visa too.... Interesting to know also how others have gone with this?
Did they say why your original visitor visa was refused?
