I finally got a response! A request for more information.... >,<
I am American, but I am submitting from Southern Japan so the embassy in charge of my visa is Seoul. Haha!

Now to hurry up and get everything collected that they asked for.

We applied online from Calgary but through the Ottawa Embassy...the Subclass 100 is the Permanent Partner Visa - [Stage 2 of the Subclass 309 (I think)] I was told it was rare to have that granted off the bat, not sure...I know that our paperwork was extremely detailed and have a bucket of support from AUS (Husband's) family who are now over the moon excited about us coming.

Cheers,
Lariat33

Wait, so have you ever been granted a temporary partner visa, or did they just grant you the permanent visa right away? How long have you guys been married? And do you have children? I only ask because I've been married for 14 years and we have two children, and someone in Ottawa once mentioned that we might be able to get the permanent visa right away.

Hi Suz...no I never got the Subclass 309 they did grant my permanent instead...we've been together / married for over 3 yrs and our children are grown, my son is here in Canada and his son is AUS born and still there with the rest of his immediate family as well as relatives, friends, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are granted the 100 (fingers crossed)!!! Which of you is AUS? Which area in AUS are you re-locating to?

Cheers,
Barb

Oh wow! That's amazing news for you! I'm hoping the same happens for us, and my hubby is granted his Permanent Visa right away. And I can't believe how quickly it happened for you! Congratulations!!!

I'm Australian, and so our children automatically became Australian (Australian Citizenship by Decent). My entire family lives over there, and his entire family lives here (Toronto). We'll be relocating to Brisbane. As I said, we've been married for 14 years and have 2 children together, so I pray there are no hiccups or delays.

Good luck to you!!! I'm sure it'll be wonderful for your husband to be near his family again. And I'm so envious that you're done with Canadian winters!!!!

Suzanne
