Anyone else applied from NZ (Auckland) this year???? I am from the UK and I applied here in Auckland NZ

VISA sub: Partner 309
Date I have applied online: 11 April 2015 (paid) + medical and police check done and received.
Almost all documents sent right away, and a few the week after.

Today's date: 29 of October 2015
No contact with CO at all for more than 6 months now. Is that normal?
Wish all you guys good luck on your application!

Hi, you'll mostly only hear from your CO when they need more info. We waited in silence for many months then after 11 months and 2 weeks we finally got our 309 from US.

I'm Australian, and so our children automatically became Australian (Australian Citizenship by Decent). My entire family lives over there, and his entire family lives here (Toronto). We'll be relocating to Brisbane. As I said, we've been married for 14 years and have 2 children together, so I pray there are no hiccups or delays.

Good luck to you!!! I'm sure it'll be wonderful for your husband to be near his family again. And I'm so envious that you're done with Canadian winters!!!! ;)

Suzanne

Suzanne, I think if you're married for a set amount of years they just grant the 100 visa right away. Someone else married for 7 got the 100. I've been married 22yrs to a Canadian and spent all those winters in Calgary so I'm hoping we just get the 100 visa right away.

Then home to Brisbane where I will never EVER shovel snow again in my life.

Thanks, we will just wait then! And see what happens

I'm on the same boat as you mate, except we've applied from New Caledonia. We've handed in everything and are just waiting on approval. It's been nearly 7 months as we applied the 8th April 2015. I'm not really expecting anything though until we've hit about the 10 month mark. These things can take a long time and it would be a big surprise if it came through any time soon. A migration agent has told me that no news is good news so just try to relax for the meantime. I know it's hard and it feels like the wait will never end but it should all work out

If you have children together and have been together more than 12 months defacto or married then you get the 100 visa straight away

I only ask because I've been married for 14 years and we have two children, and someone in Ottawa once mentioned that we might be able to get the permanent visa right away.

Hi everyone, I have a question while we wait for our 309 to come through via the Berlin office...

We applied in April 2014, so two years from that date we would presumably be contacted by Immi to apply for the 100. The thing is, while we've been sitting around waiting here in Australia (partner is on a tourist visa atm) I've been offered a job in New Zealand that would take us away for two years or so. Assuming the 309 is granted, what would happen with the 100 if we've been living offshore for the entire time leading up to the 100? Does Immi expect to see that you've been in Australia using your 309? I know the easy answer is "duh, yes of course" but on calling Immi, they only said they'd ask the applicant whether they intended to be in Australia in the future / have plans there / etc.

We've kind of been pushed into this situation due to the horrendous wait times - we're floating around in limbo waiting to see what happens, meanwhile we can get a partner visa issued from NZ in three months for less than $500 AUD and have no more visa worries, except the above... Thanks!

That's good to know! If we can go straight to the 100, that would be wonderful. I hear you about the snow - we keep telling ourselves, "One more winter, one more winter...." We, too, are also heading to Brisbane! :)
