Well I'm new here, and about to apply for the 309/100 for my wife. Heading back to Brisbane as well, spent three years in the southern suburbs, and only an hour from the Gold Coast. If you enter Australia on this visa, I presume you know once its granted, you must leave and re-enter on that visa. Not looking forward to a 12-15 month wait in the USA, where my wife is from. Hopefully it might be a little quicker. We've been in a relationship for 2 years on 11th December, and together since May 2014 when she came out to Brisbane to actually meet me.
Good luck to everyone.

lol.. One more winter is almost exactly what we've been saying. Even my wife is looking forward to leaving it.

We will be leaving January regardless as I want our Son to start school on time with the rest of the country (read --grade 5 all over again much to his disappointment)
We're in the GTA, so not far from you! The school issue was something we thought about, too, but we'd like for the kids to finish off the year here with their friends. Granted, they'll be starting half way through the year in Aus when we arrive in July (Grade 2 and Grade 6). I'm so nervous for them!!! Good luck to you and the move!!!

Though no one here replied, I eventually found out from immi that it shouldn't matter whether you're in Australia or not during the time from your 309 being granted to them requesting you apply for the 100, only that your relationship is ongoing and genuine.

We just received our 309, slightly under 8 months from application.

Offshore Partner Visa From Dubai
- So long story short, my husband is from Lebanon & I'm an Aussie. We've been together 7 years & married for 2. I'm heavily pregnant now & going back to OZ as I want to be there for delivery. Unfortunately I will be leaving my husband in Dubai as I have no other choice. We applied on 2 Oct 2014 & still have not been requested to undertake medicals or police clearances. It is so frustrating ! They never answer any emails & I never hear from my case officer. Just the admin contacts us when they need something & then we are waiting for months again. Last time I went to the consulate they told me the security clearance is still pending & there is nothing we can do. I really don't know what to do at this point as I don't want to be away from my husband but I don't see any other choice. We are applying for a visit visa for April when I'm going to deliver but still not sure what to do. Any advice ??????? PLZ
