RFI Correspondence

Hello Guys,

I was requested provide more information for my wife's subclass 309 visa. The email came from - [email protected].

In the s56 letter, case officer (new delhi) did not provide any email address. Rather provided a link to Australian Immigration Enquiry Form where i can choose the location and type of inquiry.

But when I went to fill up the form after uploading the documents, it said - "If you are responding to a specific request from a Case Officer, then you are advised to submit your response via the options specified in that request. This will ensure that the Case Officer receives your response faster."

What is the usual process to get back to the case office after uploading further documents? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

I have just received the same request and will be responding using the Enquiry Form as you did. I believe this is the way as it is mentioned in the email of case officer. However, I em thinking of also uploading the documents to my ImmiAccount for peace of mind. Not sure if that is a good idea.

Documents should be uploaded via Immiaccount anyway. That form is to notify the case officer/office that they've been uploaded.

Thanks, I have done that: uploaded the document to Immicount, then notify the case officer through the Enquiry form.

Cheers,

It is with great pleasure that I can announce my wife's 309 visa has been granted as of Tuesday this week. I know, based on the timing, we are among the lucky ones that's for sure. It took around 10 and a half months from submission to outcome.

What is interesting is that only days prior to the grant, I did submit a travel exemption application for her. I wonder if this had any impact on a result being brought back sooner...

wow congrats! Good to hear that 309's are still being granted. At what rate, who knows but this is excellent news indeed.

I may need to try that apply-for-600 trick...

Thank you! We were so stoked to have the result come through. It's definitely a long road... but there is light at the end of it. Good luck with your application!

My immigration agent advised me that he heard through his DoHA connections that they were prioritising 820's (onshore) but soon would be coming toward the end(ish) of them, and 309 processing times would probably speed up a bit in comparison to current average times.

As you said though, who knows at what rate and what the hell they are actually doing at the DoHA...!

Hi All, just wanted to let you know that my Partners Visa has been granted!! We're very happy and excited.

309 Submitted: 01/09/2019
RFI: I'm sorry I don't know what does this stand for?
309 Granted: 04/11/2020

I'm Australian and my partner is British. We did the application ourselves and applied from England. We'd been together 6 years when we applied. We uploaded all our health checks, police checks and details upfront. We didn't hear anything for over a 1 year until they contacted us on the 27.10.20 to ask for a new police check, as the one we'd uploaded had expired. We requested this immediately but before we'd even received the new police check they contacted us again to say the 309 visa had been granted!!!!

Good luck to all those still waiting. Hang in there, it will happen!! xx
