Have you heard anythink about ur visa yet

Hello!

Not yet... My status still simply says 'received'. I have kept in contact with the High Commission sporadically to try and get a sense of it. One guy I spoke to suggested the current processing time for 'straightforward' applications was 5 months. However my CO is playing is totally by the book and saying she cannot be anymore accurate than 10 - 14 months :(

It makes it very difficult when you are trying to plan the rest of your life!

I have put a note in my diary to contact them again 6 weeks after the last time (any more frequent might be seen as unwelcome pestering).

Very interested to know if you get any news. As we will both soon be entering the 5th month of waiting, I'm optimistic we are in the 'good news zone' (fingers crossed)!!!

My Best, Max

We are in a similar boat to you except my partner is Suisse. We will apply for the 309 next week but aren't sure which embassy the application will go through. How is your application going? Do you have any pointers so far?

Thanks.

Kel.

Hi Kel,
Sorry for the slow reply. From what I understand the application goes through the German embassy (but all done online, we didn't have to send any hard copies of anything to Germany).

Process is slow...we applied 21st Dec 15, got a request for 2 docs on 4th Jan 16 from a CO (we knew they would request these, they were taking super long from the Norweigan govt so we just decided to submit our application without them). We submitted those 2 docs on the 11th Jan and have heard absolutely nothing since then.

We sent an email to the European Service Centre a few weeks ago and got a standard token response back saying waiting times are 10-14 months (yay....) and ours is being 'processed'.

So it's been about 9 months now. Hoping for it very soon, we really want to spend Christmas together.

You've probably submitted it already so I won't bother with pointers!

Basically i'm pretty down about the whole thing, it really sucks having our happiness depending on government efficiency....not to mention paying all that money for what I see as a pretty sub-standard service in terms of communication, their website still says estimated waiting time 5 months, then you submit and they tell you 10-14??? How is that OK? frustrating!

Anyway - good luck! :P

Hi, I'm a little obsessed with checking this thread even though nothing changes with my application from day-to-day! Still just says 'received' (coming up to 5 months). As far as we know, we have submitted everything and I'm resisting bombarding my CO just for the sake of it. Does anyone have any experience of how much contact is useful versus counter productive please? I've made a diary note to send the CO something 6 weeks after my last contact but I've actually already written the e-mail and its sat in my drafts ready to shoot across. Any updates/ stories/ experiences are great to hear with so many of us in the same boat. Good Luck!

Hi all,
I've been viewing this thread for the past few months and just thought I'd share my timeline.
Partner 309 lodged offshore in London on 11 April 2016.
Medicals and police checks requested in June, uploaded within 2 weeks.
My partners application still just says received but my sponsor application now says approved. No news since.
Very interested to keep up with other people's timelines for those who have lodged from the UK. Hoping and praying we get news before Christmas but that seems slightly optimistic but fingers crossed!

We're in a similar boat then. My wife and sponsor (Australian citizen) is approved. Despite this, we did have to subsequently provide 2 more documents to her account post 'approval' (Police checks in Aus and UK). This is because we are travelling with a child although I only found this out by chance when calling the High Commission last month about something unrelated.

Our intention is to go out for an extended holiday early December anyway. We'll travel and visit family until my Visa is granted when we'll find somewhere permanent to settle. I hope this isn't bending the rules too much as I know it's not advised to enter on a tourist visa whilst waiting for a 309/ 100. We will technically be tourists and I hope my CO will be able to advise me when I need to leave the country for my Visa to be granted.

My next communication with the CO will be a carefully worded request about this.

It will be a huge weight off our minds if the Visa is sorted prior to departure.

Hi Londontoaus,
Partner and I lodged PMV (300) 26 March. CO allocated 3 June and heard nothing since. We also applied through AHC London. Would love for my partner to be here by Christmas but I think that is definitely hopefully thinking! This process is very emotionally draining but best to keep positive :) every day is a step closer! Keep us posted of you hear anything.

Immigration are very good with visitor visas and notifying when to leave so that an offshore Partner visa can be granted correctly.

We asked for a 12 month Visitor visa, so the waiting time could be spent in Australia, and got it.

They then notified us when to leave, so the PMV could be granted offshore, and we could return. When we got the notification to leave, we gave them our flight details to Vanuatu and back, so they could finalise the visa.
