It's confused me a bit as everything on this forum says that all applications go through your nearest AHC. Can't give any info on documents uploaded though sorry! :) |
Ok so I've done a bit more research, and found this page: Visas and immigration - Australian High Commission
and it has this quote: "If you have lodged an online visa application through the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) website, please note that the AVAC cannot provide any information regarding the status of your application, nor do they have access to DIBP systems." (AVAC is the other name for TTServices, the company I mentioned in my last post) - I love how it says they can't give you information, but it doesn't say who CAN give you information. So I guess they are right, you (and I!) need to contact DIBP directly. It doesn't help that their main number is for calls within Aus only. There is also the Aus consulate-general in Auckland who are on 09 921 8800 - I will call them tonight if i get a chance. |
Aaaaaand sorry for the mass posting but I've just found this little gem on the immi website, e-visa FAQs:
"Where does my eVisa application go after I have submitted it? Once you submit your eVisa application, we will process it in Australia at specialised processing centres. You can find the right one for you at Australian Processing Centres." Then you click on the link to the Australian processing centres and it just gives you a list of the Aus Immi offices, but has no information at all about where your visa will be processed. I'm guessing "somewhere in Australia" is the general answer, but it doesn't say anything like "countries X, Y and Z will be processed in Perth" or "Countries in X continent will be processed in Melbourne"... that sure would be handy. |
Oh wow that is awesome information JMac!! Thanks for that! Yeah I had a quick look at immi website but didn't get far!! Thanks for the info! Might give them a call thru the week (I just want to let someone know my partner is coming to Aus for Christmas) so yeah it is a bit annoying hey! Thanks again!!! :-) guessing you haven't heard from a CO or anything yet?
|
Jmac... offshore applications in general (even online ones) are not processed in Australia, but at the nearest embassy/AHC. I'm not sure about NZ specifically if it's an outlier.

That's great news Hodgi! We applied in June so hopefully we will hear something later this month. Hooray, thanks for sharing!! Edit: I just saw your previous message - nope we haven't heard anything from a CO or anyone else - I'll post on here when we do as it might help you figure out your expected timeline! |
Hi Mushplush,
I would just like to know where you applied from? Thank's. Has anybody applying for the 309 Evisa (online visa)from New Zealand heard anything or heard of anybody getting a reply from a CO or Immigration? HI Jmac01, Have you heard anything yet seeing that you applied in June and they going through the June applications? This waiting game is really tedious and i don't know what to do. |
Haven't heard a thing yet from NZ. Though we applied end of Aug so assuming you will first :) although my partner did apply for his evisitor on Thursday which got approved Friday :)
How's your wait going? |
