Just a repost:
Applied for partner visa April 11th 2014
Email from CO 30th August 2014 requesting medical and fbi check
Applied for fbi check 11th September 2014
Email from CO 29th September 2014 for more information - joint bank account, wills, joint bills
Sent information 29th September 2014
Still waiting on fbi check to come back.
Then hopefully an approval.

Hi hodgi, Charlie Brown and kylie, thanks for the updates everyone. I'm getting tired of waiting too - we haven't heard anything at all, but I'm hopeful that we will soon... Looks like it took 20 weeks for you to hear from your CO, Kylie - thanks so much for the update, it makes the waiting more bearable when there's an end in sight (or even just the next step in the journey)! we will hit the 20 week mark next week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Although I just realised after I posted this that you guys have applied in the USA, so maybe we can't draw any conclusions from your timeline!

Submitting FBI/med docs

I see that some people have waited until medical and FBI check are requested, while others submit with the rest of their documents.

Is there a reason for waiting until it's requested?

We just had it all ready to go and submitted it all together in July.

Kirsty

Husband is offshore in DC waiting it out. He'll be here for Xmas/New Years for a quick visit... 42 days and counting ;)

Hiya! Some people chose to wait to be requested for PCC and medicals because they are only valid for 12 months. If your application is waiting for longer than 12 months I have heard of people being requested to complete medicals/PCC twice (which can be expensive!)
Hope this helps :)
Andrea

We've just past the 20 week mark and still no word. Sigh!

elzawelza 11-12-2014 03:39 AM

we've applied for a 309/100, these are our stats (I'm the Australian):

Applied: 10/05/14
CO assigned: 15/06/14
Police Cert: 03/06/14
Medical: 13/05/14

(the last two are approximations as its 3:38am and I'm at work lol) so now its been 26 weeks and we're starting to get very antsy lol we're in the 8-9 month processing time.

Refused visa 6/11/14 based on not having a joint bank account. Aren't allowed to be a financially independent woman still.
Good luck to the rest of you.

That seems a bit unfair - lots of couples who have been approved don't have joint bank accounts! Are you going to go to appeal? What evidence did you give to show your shared finances Kyliekinz?
Sorry you got refused!!

Western union transfers
3 superannuation statements
Pages of receipts
Bank statements showing that he was using my card in the town he lives
Wills
Utility bills showing he's on the account too

Not sure if we are going to appeal. We have no further evidence and are low income earners. Trying to get the $3500 for the visa alone was tough. Not sure what we are doing.
