On the 24th of March we received a text from VFS mentioning that our visa has been processed, which was really strange and as we did not upload any medicals / police clearance report. BUT we did not received anything from IMMI.

So our lawyer advised us to do the medicals and apply for the police clearance. Then while i was waiting for my police report my husband got an email from Australian immigration requesting for his police clearance.(3rd april 2017)

So by the 13th of April my medicals and police report was uploaded and 17th of april my husbands police report was uploaded. still we did not hear anything from immi.

We inquired why we got a message from vfs saying its processed no reply as at yet. So we wait now.

Have anyone got any messages from vfs like this? please let me know
Hi Butterfly_Cairo,

I did a visitor visa through VFS in 2014 and got a similar message. It meant that they had processed the application by passing it on to the embassy.

Not much to it really. They hadn't actually checked it properly, as i submitted un-certified documents. Not sure they would even notice missing documents.

I lodged my application for 309 on 31 Oct 2016 from Indonesia which is also a high risk country. Got my visa granted on 5 May 2017. Finally. Just over 6 months.

It seems our file has been passed on to a second CO. Is this the way they usually work?

I used to be contacted by another case officer, and I asked whether she is the case officer for my application. She said there's not specific case officer for each application. All of them handling all applications together. So it won't be always the same person who will contact me.

With the exception of automatic emails, I've only been emailed twice and they were from two separate COs.

Hello everyone -

We applied for our 309 on 27 December 2016. So far, we haven't heard a thing. No emails, nothing. Should I be worried? I think the panic is about to set in. We have all the police certificates etc. It says that "Examinations required" in our mailbox. Do we just go ahead and start them? Idk. Should I be doing something to figure this out? Like call someone? Oh gosh. The silence is deafening.

Did you get the "Application submitted" email? If you did, they have the right email address. As for the medical, you can choose to do it now or wait for a CO to ask. When you di the medical questionnaire in immi, it will explain which doctors to use and what to bring.

Not hearing things is normal. Ideally, you don't want to hear from them at all until you get your visa grant email... that means you submitted everything needed and they wanted no further info from you or interviews.

Oh goodness - thank you for replying! Yes, we got the initial email, and then nothing. I'm silly for posting before I actually scrolled through this thread - I have come across others in the US who have not been assigned CO's and they applied much earlier than we did! In any case, thank you for calming me down! Hahah my husband is more levelheaded than me 😂 I think because we have already waited over 4 months, we will proceed with the medicals now! Thank you for your help! You are a star xxx
