You could always try but most likely it would be sent to USA to process, but anything is possible with DIBP.

I think it goes by where you live, as in which permanent address you list at the time of application, rather than what citizenship/s you hold. If you're residing in the US at the moment it will mostly likely be processed by Washington DC I think.

That's an interesting idea! My husband is from NY but lives near the Canadian border. When he was organising to get his medicals done, he found that crossing the border into Canada was easier for him as it was closer than the one in NYC. He tried to book it, but they only took Canadian residents haha it was worth a try! (he will be going into NYC on friday for his medicals yayyyyy) x

Yeah, got my sponsorship in the next day. Heard nothing so far. Actually kind of glad of that because we are still waiting for his name change deed poll document to be mailed to us which should be arriving in the next two weeks, so at the moment no news is good news.

You should apply for the 100 - don't rely on them to remind you, the onus is on you to keep track and apply when eligible (which you are now).

Smile Partner 309 Visa granted in 5 weeks- Ireland

Hi there everyone!

I've been a viewer of this site for a while but had no need to post a question yet as there is so much info available on here thanks to all of you that contribute. Now my partner and I want to contribute ourselves if we can as we just got our Partner Visa 309 approved last night! I'll make a post about the process in detail for those interested but for now the basics:

I am Australian, my boyfriend Irish. We met 4.5 years ago online, first met in person in Aug 2014 and have had a few back and forward trips between Aus and Ireland since then. We have the relationship registered and a joint account here since Dec last year (timeline specifics to come) but have only really 'lived together' whilst traveling in Europe or the month he was here last Dec.

We submitted our application May 7 this year and got the approval on June 15- just 5 weeks later. I'll let you know when I have the longer post ready but just wanted to give you all a little bit of hope
