Can we live and work in another EU country after lodging our offshore defacto?

Hi There,
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Only a short question, but possibly a confusing one!
I am british and my partner is australian but holds a british passport too. We are living in the UK together and have lodged our offshore defacto application.
Our plan was originally to wait it out here, and move to Oz once it had been granted.
However, I used to work in Spain and an old friend has offered me and my partner the chance to work over there for 4 months over the summer.
We are both keen to do this, as we know we have a long wait ahead of us anyway, and could be a great way to spend some time in Europe before we leave.
We will living and working together, still as a couple of course.

We have both agreed that if this would affect or delay our visa application in anyway, then we will pass up the opportunity. But would it be such a big deal, with us both already having british passports, and simply moving address within the EU?
The job is in Mallorca, in Spain.

If anybody has gone through anything similar, please let me know!

Thanks Guys, have a great day!
