Traveling while Processing

Hi there, was wondering if anyone could clarify for me (or tell me their experiences!) how traveling to australia works if you're processing a visa? Like, I'm processing the subclass 300 right now, and I'm in America, and I want to go for 3 weeks in May to Australia to see my fiance... would that jeopardize my 300 in any way?
Thanks heaps

If they grant a visa for you and no reason why they should not, it should not affect the processing of your PMV other than that you need to let the office in the US know just so hopefully they will not attempt to approve it while you are in Australia.
If that occurred the visa application could be rejected.

The other thing that you may want to consider depending on when the PMV application has been put in is to see if you can get an idea on the progress and if you were in Australia and they advised you the visa grant was imminent once you left Australia, you could just take a trip to New Zealand rather than all the way back to the US if that was something you could organise yourself for.
